Piper Andrews is a Psychology major at SDSU. Unsure what to base her thesis paper on, her friends help her come up with a uniquely brilliant idea. Of course it's based on none other than her #1 addiction, romance novels and how the modern day romance novel leading man creates unrealistic expectations for a prolonged adult relationship.
"I would date every stereotype in the books. I'd give them all a shot to see if real life happy ending just like I read about was actually possible. Billionaires, bad boys, rock stars, athletes, a dominant, bikers in motorcycle clubs, my teacher, and...my stepbrother?
I gagged a little at the thought, but those books were all the rage."
And once again, with the help of her friends, Austin, Shannon, and her best friend Scott, she finds her lucky male subjects. From bar brawling bad boys, encounters with scary bikers, to sexy as sin rock stars, Piper soon learns that not all romance novel leading men will lead her to her HEA (which is great for her thesis project). But she also finds herself in a love triangle with two unexpected amazingly perfect men. What starts off as a thesis project ends up becoming a hell of a lot more complicated.
Piper and her quirkiness had me laughing and just like this story she is uniquely different from most Heroines. She's somewhat confident but doesn't notice how truly beautiful men view her as, and her playful banter with her friends is absolutely hilarious, especially with her best friend Scott.Read more ›
I have to admit, I usually despise love triangles, but I LOVED this one! I loved Piper, she was a smart, funny, strong, and at times clumsy heroine that I could relate to. The two male leads were fantastic and well written, I really had no idea which one I wanted her to choose, because I loved them both so much, but closer to the end I knew which one I wanted her to be with and I was so happy when she picked him!!
I loved how this book poked fun at romance novels in general and turned out to be a fabulous one itself!
This book is every reader dream. You get to read about a girl who gets to date every book boyfriend you've ever dreamt about, I loved every second of it. It was so different from anything I've read and I loved it. It was refreshing and more than that it was having all the book boy friends in one book. The story was fantastic, I loved the characters. I just freaking loved this book.
Piper's favorite TYPE is the Rock Star. But in the name of science she's willing to date a DILF, a CEO, a biker, an athlete, the bad boy, the friend...even her step brother. She'll risk it all in this experiment ....including her heart.
This is a clever story mixed with tension and comfort....humor and romance.
Piper represents many of today's women in the world. She is just too busy to find a relationship. While attending school as a Psychology major and finding her days and night filled with endless studying there is little room in the pursuit of romance. She seems to have all the romance she needs as she falls more in love with the romance in the novels that consume what little free time she has.
Piper is a much deeper character than most. She uses a lot of her knowledge and she is very analytical. Constantly curious and always trying to find the textbook explanation of the way people work, the intellectual aspect of them, the way they react and the way the human mind works she develops and idea that she is ready to put to the test.
Along the way she begins to see her best friend Scott in a whole new light. Some things you can hypothesize about and ideas you can test, but in reality there are those variable, like Scott, you never see coming or expect being they were never part of the plan.
This was a really enjoyable read. The author kept me interested all the way through. The fun nature of the book was a nice twist. As a reader I found it to be exciting, it will keep you invested until the very end, and find you hoping for love. The dating scene is dynamite and I love that this author took us on a fun and exciting journey that kept me waiting page after page to find out what happens next

I enjoyed this book, it was different. It needs a little editing. It's a little unrealistic but that's why it's a romance novel. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Mother of 3 kids plus 1
A nice twist on the stereotypical H. Sweet, spicy and a nice HEA. Would've loved to see the other dates fleshed out a little more though, but understandable to keep the plot moving... Read morePublished 2 months ago by K.C.
I've thought about this very thing a few times before myself. Does the leading men really live up to how they are depicted in romance novels? Read morePublished 2 months ago by Shelly
