1.0 out of 5 stars INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT WARNING for parents of younger kids - more suitable for older kids
By Ms. HRNB on January 16, 2018
I ordered this game based on the description and the good reviews so I was very surprised at some of the inappropriate content written on the game cards. The first line of the description says this game is 100% family friendly, and recommends it for ages 8 and up. I have 9.5 year old boys and their 11 year old cousin who LOVE making burp / fart / gross-out jokes and noises which is why I thought this game would be so fun for them. What I found instead were topics more appropriate for tweens and up, I'd say 12 and up, maybe 11 but certainly not age 8 and up. I remembered one review where a mom said she took out a small handful of cards she deemed not appropriate, so I went through the cards to find these few before playing the game with the kids. My stack of inappropriate cards got larger and larger, until I finally realized this game was not for us. I didn't feel like explaining to my 9 year olds card saying things like "infected private parts" or "my brother must be going through puberty, because he spends all his time ____". What 8, 9, or 10 year old kid relates to the topic "Hot Girls"? Many topics while perhaps appropriate seemed mean-spirited; much mention of "frenemies" and kids with zits on their faces along with making fun of teachers appearance, weight, or smell. Some topics seem to encourage inappropriate or rule-breaking behavior citing "my mom's multiple personalities", "hacking my parents' password", "peeing in an empty water bottle", and "getting laughing gas at the dentist's office". This encourages having fun while being disrespectful of other people and opens up topics like the effects of laughing gas that I'm not prepared to explain to 2nd and 3rd graders, let alone have their friends play this game with them and go home with some of these comments or questions. Do I want my child's classmate going home to ask his parents what does "infected private parts" mean? And in early grade school, most kids actually LIKE their TEACHERS so all of the negative teacher commentary on the cards was unsettling. Thinking it was perhaps just me, I showed the game cards to my husband and a friend and they agreed that they wouldn't want their kids to see these cards or play this game. We're not prudes by any means; we have fun playing word games like Mad Libs and add crazy, disgusting word combinations to gross each other out, but this game just seemed mean-spirited. Disappointing!

5.0 out of 5 stars not funny or 2
By BlzjkAa on May 20, 2017
I was a little worried...middle school kids (especially boys) tend to find inappropriate things funny-so I had my doubts this would be either: 1. not funny or 2. not appropriate. However, I am pleasantly surprised, it is very funny and there are endless options for funny combinations and answers. There are a small stack worth of cards that I am throwing away just because I think they go too far or touch on topics I don't want to be "funny" for the boys I am (trying) raising to be mature, young men (training bras, birds and the bees, Uranus, an "epic tantrum full of sweat words", scratching your butt and sniffing it, puberty, butt acne, etc.) THere are still plenty of funny options that don't cross those boundary lines I have set for my kids. I included pics of some funny answers that came up in our games as well as a picture of cards that I am removing. The game play is just like Cards Against Humanity. The children we are playing with are between ages of 8-12, I think the game would be funny enough for 8 through high school but really it is funny enough that parents aren't completely bored by it either.
