Sheriff Reagan Callahan wants nothing better than to live his life in peace and serve the good people of Wyldhaven. But that has become near next to impossible since the new school teacher arrived! He has drawn his gun more times than in his whole term as sheriff just to keep the woman out of trouble. The best place for Charlotte Brindle, in Reagan’s mind, is on the next train back to Boston!
Lynnette Bonner has given her readers true to life characters that they can relate to and remember long after reading the final page. I enjoyed the fact that I not only had one character to fall in love with but a whole town of characters!
If you love old westerns (Support Your Local Sheriff) and family drama (Little House on the Prairie), then you will love Not A Sparrow Falls.
By: Lynnette Bonner
Not A Sparrow Falls is book one in Wyldhaven series. I believe this is my first to read by Lynnette Bonner and hopefully it will not be my last. The story and the characters, both were well written, well developed, and easy to follow. I absolutely loved Not A Sparrow Falls and cannot wait for book two , On Eagles Wings. Ms Bonner captured my heart right at the start and did not let go till the end. This is one of the page turner stories that will have you trying to read faster, turn the pages faster, to see what is going to happen next. There was times when I was on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. Charlotte Brindle was done wrong by the man she thought she was going to marry, and now she is ready to leave Boston. She is offered a teaching job in the wonderful logging town of Wyldhaven. The stagecoach headed for Wyldhaven is an adventurous trip . What has she gotten herself into? There is the handsome Sheriff Reagan Callahan who loved his apple pie .There are outlaws who will stop at nothing to get what they want. This is a fast paced story full of action, and some clean sweet romance. Is Wyldhaven what the teacher was promised?
I was given a complimentary copy off this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is light hearted and fun, predictable in a good way but full of life choices and spiritual insight. The story begins in Boston but then travels to the state of Washington. I was ready for something fun to read and this book did not miss. I love light romance that is respectful. I also love to read some of the edgier things that go on in life with decisions and mistakes made by the characters. I finished this book 2 days ago and am still thinking about the characters. That is the mark of a good book.
I also enjoyed how the characters had discussions with God as they tried to make the best decisions for their life. They were dealing with self doubt, fear and discouragement while trying to remember to live the life God wanted. Most of the characters basic answers to questions were answered with scripture. Through the passages of scripture found in the Bible and their memories the characters found peace.
This book also had some very unsavory individuals that had no thought of God in their life. There were also characters who made some very bad choices but were in the process of finding redemption through Jesus Christ.
On the surface this book is a light, easy read but under the surface there is a deep spiritual meaning for anyone who will take the time and thought to look deeper.
I have to admit that I started reading Not a Sparrow Falls too late at night and
finished it at 6:30am. No sleep for me that night.
