Editorial Reviews
Review
The disappearance of a child is difficult to read about, and Lis Angus has done an excellent job of handling the subject... this is a page turner, and one that will have readers on the edge of their seats". ~InD'tale Magazine
Not Your Child is the author's debut novel, and it is among the strongest such works I've seen. It is original and polished, with believable dialogue and a strong sense of atmosphere. Highly recommended. ~Ottawa Review of Books
Not Your Child will please suspense story readers looking for tales about children who represent the heart of conflict....It's a hard-hitting thriller that will keep readers engrossed to the end, adding unexpected twists and turns to provide delightfully intricate inspections of motive and reality, and deserves a place in any collection where suspense stories and tales of abduction and family ties are popular. (D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review)
Lis Angus has written an engaging and gripping novel....Be prepared to be on the edge of your seat all the way through as the plot twists and turns. Then twists again. This is a powerful suspense novel with well-developed and very interesting characters. After reading Not Your Child, you will agree that she is an author to watch. (Mike Martin, author of the Sgt. Windflower mystery series, former president Crime Writers of Canada)
Lis Angus' Not Your Child is a tautly written thriller that begins with every parent's worst nightmare—a missing child—and ratchets up the tension with unexpected plot twists. Lis explores the complex relationships between parents and children, and what can happen when a child's yearning for independence leads them to a dark place. Not Your Child is a gripping debut that will keep readers engaged until the very end." (Michelle Hillen Klump, author of A Dash of Death)
