If you’re a Shakespeare fan, you should find plenty to like in this fun romance, pitting an independent and slightly quirky set designer against a famous British actor-turned-director. She is anti-romance, he is all about the love, and the chemistry between them is smoking hot. If you’re not a fan of Shakespeare than the plethora of quotes might get on your nerves, but after the brilliant insults battle, things do quiet down on that front.

Personally, I love Shakespeare, so I loved that aspect of the book. However, if you’re reading this purely for the stage-craft, be aware that there’s a whole lot more going on in Simone’s life than what happens on stage. She’s quite the complicated character, with her avoidance of all things romantic, her strong friendships and her open-hearted, caring attitude. I liked her a lot, even if I never did understand why she was so secretive of her paintings (actually, that whole plot line vanished without trace for some reason).

Zach is a good looking Brit paying a brief working trip to New York. He’s successful, rich, urbane and kind of a sweetheart. I loved how he saw Simone and encouraged her to face her fears. I also really enjoyed their time together in New York, with their shared work and their sparking attraction. As for what happens with Noah and Henry’s flat – the man is perfection.

However, as much as I enjoyed everything that happened in New York, once they actually landed in Ireland everything fell a bit flat for me. The wit and the magic was gone, things turned a touch cliché and it all went by really quickly. I’d have liked to have actually seen some of the theater stuff, and as for where the relationship between Simone and Zach heads… urgh.

This was a sweet and romantic story, by an author that was new to me. The writing is good, but I missed some action or suspense, which is probably the reason why it took me a while to enter in the story. It relates the encounter of two people with opposite views on romantic love and shows their journey towards finding a common ground.
Hot and wealthy Zach Hammond is a former movie star turned award-winning London theater director. He has agreed to direct the production of a play in a New York theater. Simone Oliver, the heroine of this story, is the company's set and costume designer. When they meet on the set, Zach is instantly charmed by Simone, but also intrigued by her complex personality. Both are theater geeks and I loved their witty "Shakespaerean" banter.
As they get closer, and blur the lines of a professional relationship, Simone's insecurities appear more and more. She is afraid to get attached, lives in the moment and doesn't believe in a happy future. Zach's struggle will be to make her accept to get out of her comfort zone and take a chance on love and happiness.

Overall, I liked this book, it was a light and easy read. However, I found it rather slow-paced, with an ending that felt rushed and no epilogue.

Yes, there is definitely Shakespeare quotes. But all in the context of the story. And there is so much more to this story. Abigail Strom is a great writer and I greatly enjoyed this book as much as the others she has written. Thank you for another excellent and well written story. And for taking the time and effort to incorporate Shakespeare's plays/quotes into this particular one. This was a very touching and romantic book while also being nicely steamy. Don't miss this one!

I was surprised by how much I loved this book. It wasn't something that I would have normally selected to read. However, I instantly fell in love with the main characters. I expected a cliched story of star-crossed lovers with the famous movie star and the set designer. I was thrilled that wasn't the case and finished the book in a night. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good, solid romance novel that has a good solid story line and well developed characters.

I truly enjoyed Nothing Like Love by Abigail Strom. I was hooked from the very first chapter and I loved getting a glimpse into the intoxicating world of live theater. The two primary characters, petite set designer Simone Oliver, and famous British actor turned director Zach Hammond, have amazing yet complicated chemistry. Their developing relationship is replete with discovery, passion and the mutual love of Shakespeare. They work together and they play together, as they slowly let go of their insecurities and realize that loving each other is what they need for a happy life. Overall, this is a well written romance with great characters and an engaging plot.

*3.5 stars* This is a tough one to review. It's a sweet romance that's a slow build throughout the book. The H/h have very different viewpoints on love so theirs is a struggle from the start. Simone is very content being in the theater background handling all the set designs. When she's unexpectedly thrown into the spotlight by the director Zach she's not sure how to react.

The overall story was really good but it didn't seem to have that hook that would keep me glued to the pages. I was easily distracted while reading this which is rare. The pace of the story was a little slow for me too.
