although you may think this is a girl singing the first time you hear it, it's really a guy... but i think his voice is way better than other "emo" singers, it's not whiny but very pretty! this cd has catchy songs, really cool artwork, I LOVE IT! i wish they'd play some shows in the northwest!

Hankshaw is a tough band to categorize, so I'll group them with some of my other favorites (keep in mind, they fall to the lighter side of most of these bands.) Jimmy Eat World, Promise Ring, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Ida, Get Up Kids, Texas is the Reason... Hankshaw has a completely unique sound; a blend of upbeat rythm and melodies and complex, emotional lyrics. A great album.

I really enjoyed this album when I first got it. And there are still some songs on here that get me every time. But most of the tracks faded with time, as the songwriting and production didn't give me enough to keep coming back. If you can pick it up used for 5 bucks or less, then I would get it. As the other reviewers mentioned, it's pretty, very poppy, very emo.
