If we talk about just the plot of the story then it is your typical boss/secretary romance. Except Grayson Maxwell is a complete psycho and once he takes NOTICE of her (see what I did there) he becomes a stalker and does some downright dirty deeds, right from the start. Violet has worked for him for six years and he doesn't even know who she is until she slaps down her two week notice on his desk. When he looks at her, and really SEEs her, he can't unsee her. He wants to do everything he can to keep her not only working for him, but completely his, in every way.
The boss/secretary plot was just the backstory to the book. I could take it or leave it, but we aren’t here for that part of the story anyways! I sincerely enjoyed picturing a tattooed John Hamm since they insisted on calling him Mad Max. But John Hamm is a sissy la la compared to this guy, like Hamm would hook up this guys cable TV.
But for a psycho, he made me laugh: “Now that she’s practically mine, I want to shower her with everything. Love. Attention. Gifts. Cum.”
There is so much sex in the book, you don’t have to wait till the end with this one she gets you sweaty right from the beginning. Seriously by the end I was fanning myself. When you buy a porno you want to get your moneys worth and you get it with this one!!
The author says it in the beginning, and I will say it again right here….if you don’t like stalker/obsessive behavior, extremely explicit sex or rape scenes than this book is definitely not for you. This is intended to be a fantasy with some real life mixed in and for entertainment purposes only, so if you don’t like that stuff than look for another smooth and creamy romance novel somewhere else.
That being said, I thought it was pretty hot. If you like a ride the crazy train, getting stalked and then possessed by a horny sex-addicted psychopath, then you will enjoy this immensely. While these aren’t my all the time read, I enjoy them every now and then, because sex and fantasies are fun!
PS The very last chapter was totally weird. So weird. I loved this book but that Was. Weird. 5/5 stars with a promise to revisit this author again soon.
Running from a previous life, and a demented ex-boyfriend, Violet finally turns her life around while working for Grayson. She maintains a low profile to protect herself. After 6 years of working for Grayson, she finally has had enough and hands in her resignation. Grayson has an obsessive nature once he notices you. He has finally noticed Violet and he begins to stalk her, to win her over. His tactics are insane and at times I was “hell no”. Ms Webster has a way of making you fall in love with these crazy unhinged nuts. (At times I question my own sanity) Ms Webster has woven a tale full of misfits, with darkness surrounding them. There are situations that are horrendous and uncomfortable. The book is challenging and not for the feint at heart. If you are a fan of Ms Webster you know you are in for one heck of a ride, with loads of chilling moments and a conclusion you will not see coming.

A mixture of present day and flashbacks tells the unconventional story of Violet. She tugs at your heartstrings, as she tries to keep her life straight. She's a tough cookie and I loved her conflicting personality. Gray, what is there to say about him? He's just delicious as he navigates new feelings in his own way.
The storyline is a lovely balance of dark and light moments. It was so evenly written, I would consider this one of the authors lighter books. If you haven't ventured into the rabbit hole that is the dark side of K. Webster, Notice is a fabulous place to start. 4.5 stars and recommended to New and experienced dark romance lovers.
Violet and Grayson both have dark pasts that keep them from getting close to people. As they become friends they tell more to each other than they have to any other person including family. Yet with their dark pasts they still stick together. Can Grayson convince her to stay now that he has finally noticed her? Will Violet be able to get past her horrific past and move on?
