About the Author
Carolyn Jewel was born on a moonless night. That darkness was seared into her soul and she became an award-winning and USA Today bestselling author of historical and paranormal romance. She has a very dusty car and a Master’s degree in English that proves useful at the oddest times. An avid fan of fine chocolate, finer heroines, Bollywood films, and heroism in all forms, she has two cats and two dogs. Also a son. One of the cats is his.

Eventually their hunger for each other became very intense and the sex scenes were fairly graphic when they did occur. They were just shy of too much for me and I was relieved that the H was very solicitous of the h, honorable and concerned with her comfort. He clearly loved her and was playing the long game in hopes of a future with her.
"Lord Ruin" the first book in this series was very enjoyable and this novel was even better. It was character driven with three dimensional main characters and written by someone who clearly appreciates good literature and writes well herself. I do wish there had been one more chapter or an epilogue as it was disappointing to have it end rather abruptly. Hopefully, a future book about Lucy's sister, Emily, will fill out more details and show Mr. Sinclair getting his proper punishment. With luck, that book might even contain some real historical information or characters and not just illustrate the morals and manners of the time period!
