This hard to locate 1992 volume provides a novelization of the events of November 22, 1963, as well as an appendix containing a dozen or so research documents .from Larry's large collection. The novel is an attempt to portray a possible scenario in which the President was killed by those who wanted to change the course of American history. The Appendix alone is worth the price of the book. A chapter by Madeline Brown provides her views on Billy Sol Estes, Clark Clifford, and LBJ, and their so-called Texas Mafia in great detail, and is far m,ore detailed than anything I have read elsewhere. Other appendices contain full copies of many of the more controversial documents relating to the Texas scandels. A chapter by Vince Palmera on the Secret Service staffing, Protective Research arrangements, Military Intelligence stand down, and the little known night of drinking at The Cellar Club on the night before the assassination is a comprehensive summary of Vince's research. The Appendix alone is extensive enough to justify a purchase based solely on it's content. Of course, one never knows when some new revelation will pop up in any publication by Larry Hancock!

"November Patriots" is a rare achievement: the successful blending of fact with fiction (a.k.a. informed speculation with the names changed to protect the guilty). The book is divided into two parts: "November Patriots" the novel and "Full Disclosure" the facts. The novel entertains and the facts inform, unlike many books on this subject that tend to be a bit too dry and "scholarly" for the average perosn to grasp. Buy it! :-)

Book was OK, but not epic. I thought I might read a fiction book about the JFK assassination. After reading November Patriots, I'm sticking with non fiction books about the JFK assassination.

For those of us old enough to recall the events and emotions of 11/22/63 there is a timelessness to them; they don't abate, they don't change. But for those of us not in Dallas that day, there is a sense of separation from the events. IMHO, "November Patriots" bridges that gap. I heartily recommend it.

As the leading civilian authority on the Secret Service, I highly recommend this book from Larry Hancock for the research aspects of the book. The first part---the novel---is o.k.; no great shakes. It is the RESEARCH aspect that is well worth it (and he makes good use of my material, as well). Get this!
