I use this product in the production of my raw cat and dog diet. What I did notice about this particular product which was not my experience from other brands, is that it does not dissolve in liquid as do other brands. Time will tell if or how this would affect any living creature, be they human, canine, or feline. Being one of many amino acids, the actual benefit would be difficult to ascertain. In feline products the mg per cat/meat is minimal in commercial cat food. Used as a supplement for stress related issues, 500mg would be a dose for an average cat. Currently, I have not had the need to dose in that manner, so the actual affects I cannot speak to at this time.

L-lysine powder is not just a supplement for humans. I own a cat who suffers with the feline herpesvirus, a virus that has gone so far as to taking his left eye, and almost his life.

This supplement gives him the added boost he needs to combat his illness and keep it in check. It's a fine granulated powder, and sprinkles right over his dry food. He eats his whole bowl of food, powder supplement and all without any fuss and is always begging for more. I would highly recommend L-lysine powder like this; easy to measure, easy to administer, long expiration date. Packaging is simple and makes for great storing.

I use this to supplement feed for a 600 Friesian/Percheron cross weanling. Based on the label recommendations, I feed 2 teaspoons top dressed in his evening feed. I based this dosage on mg/oz recommended for another lysine supplement on a well known monthly packaged supplement site. Some studies have shown that supplementing lysine helps growing horses utilize protein from feed more efficiently meaning you need to feed less to attain the same result. An experienced breeder/trainer is the person who told me about lysine and led me to investigate it. At this price and dosage, this is certainly a worthwhile investment in the healthy growth of young horses.

I feed it to my feral cat colony. The amount of sickness has been cut 95%. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 1/8 of a teaspoon per day per cat. Dissolve in water with a milk jug and poor in their bowl. Change out every day. The bowl should be empty at the end of 24 hours. Check with your Vet if you decide to do this. Let him or her set your dosage. This is just what I do. This is not a heaping teaspoon, but a level, non compacted amount.
