Made from the highest quality premium grade stainless steel, the 6.5-Quart NuWave pressure cooker allows you to prepare everything from soups to rice to full, flavorful meals in a fraction of the time. It was designed with three safety features to give you Peace of mind while you cook your entire meal in just one pot. By combining the fast heating of the PIC with the speed you only get from pressure-cooking, dinner will be ready up to 3 times faster than conventional cooking methods with the induction-ready, easy-to-clean pressure cooker

Right out of the box, the NuWave performed well. It's obviously not the same quality as Fissler or Kuhn Rikon, particularly the plastic fittings, but it came up to pressure quickly, did not scorch food, was able to release pressure rapidly, and open/close easily. However, the 3rd of 4th time that I used it, the red safety latch would not slide to lock the lid. It was jammed. The mechanism underneath kept slipping in the way. Eventually, I was able to fiddle with it enough to get the latch to work, but have no idea how. It was clean, no debris, so go figure. But that's why I can only give this product 3 stars. The safety latch is working again, but the cooker has only been used less than 10 times and I worry that it may fail again or worse, be unsafe. If it hadn't been for the red safety latch, this product would be 5 stars.
Original Review: I'll update this as I go along, but I specifically bought this because it is not expensive and is made of stainless steel and therefore usable on an induction cooktop. Hobby cook, I don't spend that much time in the kitchen, but once I realized you can boil rice in a pressure cooker, as well as many other things, and prepare things in the pot before pressure cooking, I decided it was worth trying. So far only tested, on induction this pot heats up fast (thick steel bottom, it was designed for induction!), I should imagine if you're using rings or gas or infra-red, you may be better off with an alumin(i)um pressure cooker - aluminum conducts heat more easily, induction does not use heat conduction. But it was easy to set up, I hadn't used a pressure cooker for over 40 years, and got to pressure speedily, everything worked as advertised. The manual could do with a rewrite, though. First of all, it is written for the use of this pressure cooker with NuWave's induction cooktop, which is confusing if you don't use that, and secondly, the instructions aren't always correct (I could not believe my eyes when I walked into a large underground Wal-Mart in Beijing and saw induction cooktops and -cookers wall-to-wall, in the kitchen section). The manual wants you to check the pressure indicator, an important safety feature, for instance, but does not tell you you need to flip the lever inside the bottom of the handle before you can move that. I should imagine many buyers will just go "owell", and that can lead to damage, injury, and lawsuits. Fix that, NuWave, and I'll give you another star. Now I need to do some actual cooking, will let y'all know how I get on :)
Warning: continuous use in the dishwasher will affect the material on the handle. Handle did become loose over the years but you can easily screw it tight again. I would repurchase over and over. Sorry I cannot compare to other pressure cookers as this was my first one...you know how that goes.
