Nubian Heritage's authentic African black soap combines shea butter's healing and hydrating properties with the ancient medicinal properties of palm ash, plantain peel, tar and tamarind to balance and resolve problem skin.
My boyfriend and I both use this. We are both brown skinned. In the past 3 days we've noticed that our skin looks almost like its glowing. My boo has dark spots on his face that are already fading. This soap does break down kind of quickly, so I suggest you don't leave it laying around in the shower. Enjoy and stock up. Buying three more after I write this review.
This is the third time I've bought this soap. I used to have small red bumps/ blemishes on my face and cheeks. One of my friends recommended this to me. I gave it a shot and couldn't be happier! I have actually thrown away all my old, expensive face products and 100% transitioned to this. I use it when I wake up, before bed, and in the shower. Natural and cheap! People say you can use it all over your body too, but I prefer ones that have fruity smells. This is perfect for faces because it leave your skin feeling naked of all make up, clean, not oily what-so-ever, and flawless! I recommend this to everyone I know.
Lately, I've spent a fortune on products trying to 'simplify' my skin care routine and bought this soap because I read/watched reviews that it was good for oily skin and might help with adult breakouts (plus it was cheap). But, sadly this is yet another product that works for all the beauty gurus and does not work for me. While it does seem to keep the oil under control, it leaves a film on my skin and doesn't seem to really penetrate below the surface. In addition to that, the texture of my skin seemed to worsen. I've only used it for a couple of weeks but I am not going to use it on my face anymore and see if I have better luck using it on my back.
I looooooooove this bar soap! I've become a massive fan of organic facial products since I developed adult acne. Since I've started using this soap and a combination of some other organic problems, my acne has gotten much better! I'm not sure if the soap is to be attributed for that, but I love this soap anyways because it smells amazing, is incredibly cheap, and has these amazing oats in it that exfoliate my skin so nicely. I am a forever customer!
LOOOOOVE this soap! I used it for my face for about 2 months before getting authentic African black soap to try out. It works quite well and leaves my skin super soft. It was too irritating to use twice a day and I did have to apply a good bit of moisturizer afterwards. I am using the rest of it on my body now and I am seriously thinking about getting more! Just be aware that the little bits of oat are quite scratchy and could irritate sensitive skin. I just rub it between my hands and apply the lather instead of applying the soap directly to my skin. This solves that issue perfectly :) This soap also smells much better than traditional black soap. Again, great product!!
Live by nubian heritage products. I am a long time acne sufferer. Got it at 14 and im now 24. This product works WONDERS on my skin. Use it to bathe and wash my face. It came recommended by my dermatologist. It is very mild compared to other black soaps. I have Extremely sensitive skin, which other black soaps tend to burn my son, this does not. It is a bit doing tho, moisturizer is my friend. I have no problems with nubian heritage and I've been using it for months.
This is my favorite soap. I have suffered with dry skin and sensitive skin for years, and this soap makes my skin SO soft. I also love the fact that it doesn't break out my ultra-sensitive skin and has a great fragrance.
