From the Publisher
"The book is aimed at a broad readership - teachers and students of Political Science, International Relations, International Law, History and Diplomacy, research scholars, policymakers, potential policymakers including those who would influence the policymaking process and also the common people. Since the work is confined to no particular nation or region, readers belonging to any nation may find it interesting and thought-provoking.
Whether one agrees fully with Professor Rai Chowdhuri or not, nobody will disagree that this a pioneering research work. Books on international relations are legion, but I am yet to come across any publication on this particular area which may be considered comparable to Professor Rai Chowdhuri's work." - Professor Mitchell Reiss, (from the foreword ), Vice Provost for International Affairs, College of William and Mary, Former Ambassador, United States Special Envoy to Northern Ireland, and Former Director, Policy Planning, United States Department of State.
"Very interesting and important book. It should be read by all politicians and all interested in nuclear non-proliferation. It is particularly important at the moment when we have a crisis in nuclear non-proliferation. I very much hope the book does well." - Professor Frank Barnaby, Nuclear Issues Consultant, Oxford Research Group, and Former Director, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

The writer here explains that during the days of Japan nuclear bombings, atom bombs were made with kiloton weightages. Nowadays there are bombs of megaton weightages!!!! The Nagasaki bomb was of most probably 12 kilotons, and millions of people died just within a minute. Nowadays, with a megaton bomb (1000 kiloton is 1 megaton) the world can easily be turned into a grave yard within minutes.
As Satyabrata Rai Chowdhuri says, "If a nuclear explosion takes place, there will be no 'victor' and no 'vanquished'". Then why are we spending billion dollars in nuclear bomb reasearch? Does it a make any sense? Are not we living in a fool's paradise?
Let us all read this wise book on this day (today is Nagasaki Memorial Day). And let us all, be friends, be enemies, stand against the ultimate weapon. United, we stand. We dont really need another atomic explosion.
Profound appreciation to Satyabrata Rai Chowdhuri.

Hats off to Professor Satyabrata Rai Chowdhuri !!!
The book is a considerably good piece of literature. I enjoyed reading it and have reasons to believe that others will enjoy this book too.
This books covers from Plato and Aristotle to President George Bush Senior. A masterpiece of work for newcomers in the fields of Politics and International Relations, in order to have a thorough conceptualisation of what is going on ... in nuclear politics.
