The NuForce NE-770X features design principles similar to those of the highly acclaimed NE-700, but with a somewhat different personality. The NE-770X wide-range, non-metallic drivers have been configured to produce a natural, supremely musical sonic signature without sacrificing dynamic punch, soundstage dimension, holographic imaging, or wide-band frequency response. The NE-770X polycarbonate body is acoustically inert and comfortably lightweight.

I see the reviews with complaints on an earpiece not working, etc.
I've never had trouble with any of the Nuforce headphones until just now which happened after dropping my phone while holding it. After the cord saved my phone from hitting the ground (thank you!) the pull/snap on the cord caused one earpiece to go out. I'll send to Nuforce for repair. One of the other reviews mentions these don't stand up to rough use. High-quality stuff is usually more delicate. If you like good sound use the supplied pouch to carry your earphones and don't tug or bind the cords.
My current nuforce (700x) going out (due to phone drop) caused me to pickup two of these models. I was tickled they were so inexpensive.
I've had the 2 pairs for a week and used both of them. Neither has any problems. And they sound great.
Not as good, overall, as the 700x but these cost less than 1/3 of the price. In some areas they actually sound a little better than the 700x.
YOU HAVE TO LET THESE (ALL NUFORCE EARPHONES) BURN IN FOR AT LEAST A FEW HOURS FOR BEST SOUND.
Put you music player on shuffle and let it play at about 3/4 volume for a few hours.
These are the best earphones I have come across at this price range by a wide margin.
I do love everything I have purchased from NuForce, but these didn't feel as solid as other items from them. Perhaps that's why they are in the $30 range.
The biggest problem with cheap headphones is that the mids and highs often sound brittle and artificial. Difficult to find an earphone with smooth mids and highs. The NE-700 while not the most accurate earphones out there does have a smooth, warm sound that is difficult to find in other earphones. So, my recommendation remains the NE-700 for now.
The problem is that the build quality is abysmal. The first set I received had the right transducer cut in and out right out of the box; and the right strain relief was noticeably loose compared to the left. Sent it back to amazon for a replacement. The second set I received seemed to have some channel imbalance right out of the box; and within a day was having similar issues to the first.
If they could get their QA in order these would be the go-to bud under $50. As it stands; you're playing a lottery.
