Worst of all, this lip gloss burns!!! I put it on my daughter and she started crying because it burnt her lips. I tried it on my self and the same thing happened (minus the crying). I don't know what's in this stuff, but it shouldn't burn (and I don't even have a sensitive skin). I also feel that this toy is significantly overpriced. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it. My daughter doesn't even look at it anymore.
Other reviews mentioned it's a "one time thing" as the messiness and amounts of ingredients and I disagree. There's tons of gloss base (probably more than the 8 suggested portions), although there might not be enough of the flavoring liquids (we'll see).
Clean up wasn't at all as bad as I had anticipated after reading reviews. I put all the utensils in a bowl (including the bottom, screw on "soft serve" spout and poured (almost) boiling water over them 2xs (as well as through the spout in the truck), then washed everything by hand as usual and all the slick/greasy gloss came off!
Going to make more when my daughters best friend comes over in a few days, but will use to-go sauce cups. The glosses will last a while!
*The flavors are more "scents" than "tastes" and not very dark, which I prefer given they're for young kids
