Mixtrack Platinum offers a host of great features, such as a built-in custom LCD display screen in each 5” capacitive jog wheel, 4-channel mixing capabilities, filter and gain controllers for each channel, effects, and 24-bit audio output.
- Dynamic displays on each jog wheel
- Dual 5” metal platters with Numark-exclusive touch-capacitance response
Innovative Dynamic Displays!
The Mixtrack Platinum offers never-before-seen 1.75” displays on the jog wheels that show vital DJ information. You can monitor BPM, platter postion, time remaining, key lock, and pitch adjustment without having to look away from your controller.
Mix With Four Decks
Use the new deck-select function to switch to the layered deck you want, so you can mix in loops, a cappellas, and blend in songs seamlessly. You can also check the new displays built into the jog wheels to monitor which deck you're on.
No Limits on Your Creativity
Dive into our 16 multi-function backlit performance pads to add loops, launch samples, and control cues as you perform. There are dedicated filter knobs for each channel and touch strips for dynamic FX control and track-search operation.
Built-In Sound Card
The controller is powered by a USB connection to your computer, and the built-in soundcard lets you directly connect to a microphone and PA system. Two headphone jacks (1/4” and 1/8”) let you mix with friends or tradeoff between sets.
The Platinum Feel
The metal platters are touch-capacitive and dual-zone to scratch or stop a track from the top of the wheel and bend the pitch by touching the side. Full, 100-millimeter pitch sliders give you more sensitivity to always match beats by ear.
Serato DJ Intro Download Included
Serato Intro software gives you comprehensive control. Plus, Mixtrack Platinum is class-compliant with both Mac and PC, so you’ll be able to plug in and start mixing your music right away—no drivers or complicated set up necessary.

From Numark—the world’s leading innovator of DJ equipment and technology—comes the new Mixtrack Platinum. We kept everything you love about the Mixtrack controller series but added advanced features you need to reach and stay on the next level.
The Mixtrack Platinum gives you a two-channel mixer with four channel deck layering at your disposal, so you can remix on the fly utilizing loops and a cappella tracks or create a mashup mix. LCDs on each jog wheel give visual feedback of beats per minute (BPM), needle drop, time remaining in song, key lock, and active deck, so you can stay on top of your work without taking your eyes off the controller.
A built-in soundcard outputs audio directly to your headphones and speakers when connected to a computer via USB.
The Mixtrack Platinum features two touch-sensitive metal jog wheels and two 100mm-long, responsive pitch sliders so you can perfectly sync your songs. There are filter and equalizer knobs, and 16 performance pads for samples and cues. A pair of multi-function touch strips offer dynamic FX control and needle-drop track searching.
With all that, the Mixtrack Platinum still weighs less than 14 pounds—portable enough to go where you need it for your mobile DJ set-up.
The Platinum is everything you need: accessible for a beginner without anything to hold you back once you’re a pro.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which DJ software comes with the Mixtrack Platinum?
The Numark Mixtrack Platinum comes shipped with Serato DJ Intro. As an option, users can also use Serato DJ 1.7.5 and up with their Mixtrack Platinum. Note: these can be upgraded to Serato DJ through additional purchase or previously activation.
Does the Mixtrack Platinum work with Virtual DJ, Traktor and other DJ programs?
Since the hardware controls appear to your computer as a generic MIDI device, it can indeed be custom-mapped to any other DJ application that supports user or developer-created custom mapping.
Are the Prime Loops and TOOLROOM packs “light” versions?
No, they are the full versions.
Do you have to install any additional drivers for the Mixtrack Platinum?
No. The DJ Controller is a class compliant device so there are no additional drivers to install, and it supports both Mac and PC.
What song information is on the display screen?
Beats Per Minute (BPM); needle drop; time remaining in song; key lock; and which deck you are on.
What is the Mixtrack Platinum made of?
High impact polymer composite which provides strength and durability as well as making it lightweight.
Are the performance pads velocity-sensitive?
No. The pads are not velocity-sensitive.
Does the mic output to the booth, master or both?
The mic outputs to your master output only.

Top Customer Reviews
I'm getting my money back and ordering a Pioneer DDJ-SB2 which I should of just done in the first place.
You can play four tracks at once, which is really nice, with a button on each side to switch track control. The Mixtrack remembers the settings of each track as you switch between track settings. As a bonus, you can actually play 8 tracks at once, by using the sample pad triggers. However, there is no way to apply sync, filters, or fx to the additional 4 sample tracks. So in essence, it is a four track device, but can play 8 tracks at a lower capability.
A few other details. The track effects are very limited. There is an option to upgrade the software for $10 a month, but this seems like a steep price to pay for "16 total effects". With the free software, you are limited to 4 or 5. Even with the upgrade, all of the effects are extremely limited in terms of control and customization. There is only one control per effect: more or less. To be fair, there is also a sync control for effect timing like echo, but this is standard and minimal. Overall, it doesn't seem like the price of software upgrade is worth anything.
More details. The pitch bend has triple redundant controls: outer wheel, outer sliders, and pitch bend buttons. Which is cool, but seems a bit excessive. I would rather see some of the pitch controls reassigned to more pertinent parameters. For example, the only way to control track speed real-time is by carefully turning the wheels. It would be nice if one of the sliders could be used for timing control, rather than having to use a wheel. The pitch bend buttons only work while holding the buttons down, causing the tone to continually rise or drop. As soon as they are released, the tone reverts immediately to default. I would rather have the option for the pitch changes to be permanent. The outer wheel is also temporary. The only permanent pitch controller is the outer sliders. Again, seems redundant, somehow.
As a last detail, there are only RCA outs (though 1/8 and 1/4 jacks for headphones). It would be nice to have 1/8 or 1/4 inch final mix outputs as alternatives.
In summary, this is a surprisingly powerful controller for the price. It isn't a full capability controller, but comes pretty close. You can easily get started mixing and manipulating tracks, and it has enough capability to keep you happy for a long time. There are only a few minor nuances which could use some work, as well as visibility into programming and controls. But all and all I enjoyed this controller, and had a good time coming up with some crazy mixes right away. I should mention that the software makes it easy to create playlists for each of the tracks, and easily imports tracks of just about any format. Very user friendly from that perspective. There are also 4 cues per track, with looping and manual marker placement, as well as a control for doubling or halving loop duration. Would be nice to have a continuous controller for loop duration, but you do have the ability to mark loop boundaries arbitrarily in real time. So pretty much everything you need, and impressive for the price, unless you really really need that extra level of control. You know who you are.
If Virtual DJ was never purchased, the full cost of it is $300 or $100 for a license with a specific controller. There are some controllers that come with a version of Virtual DJ that is dedicated to being used with that controller in particular so once a different controller is being used, that version of Virtual DJ would not work.
Although Serato DJ Intro is included rather than Virtual DJ, the Mixtrack Platinum has been tested on Virtual DJ 8 and seems to work fully. Here is a guide that walks through the setup procedure:
