I have been using this product for years now - there is nothing better! It mixes well ... doesn't leave you with the powdery mess that other brands do. It tastes great - no chalky taste or texture. I have a problem with hypoglycemia yet it has enough protein to get me from 7am to 1:30 or 2pm when I find the time to eat. I mix it with about 1 cup of pear nectar, a pear, and 1/2 keifer - GREAT!
I've been using this brand for the past 3 months since trying Dr. Oz's 2 week rapid weight loss plan. It works fine as far as I know. I don't know what bad or good would actually be without trying others. It's made in California so it's not contaminated with high metal content as the brands that come from China are found to be. I just went to check the remainder in this container and it appears to be moldy? I had to take some of the contents out to make it easier to control and store the one I'll be using. I guess I will have to buy smaller sizes! lol I didn't know that and nothing was ever said - any where so, if you did not know this then I hope this helps!
This tastes surprisingly well for being rice protein mixed only with vanilla (no additional flavoring or sweetener). I pair it with pea protein to have a dairy-free, complete-protein shake. It mixes well (far better than the pea protein) and doesn't lead to the insuling spike often associated with whey protein shakes. It's obviously not as good tasting as an artificially sweetened, flavored protein powder, but if you don't drink it expecting a dessert, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Finally, this is the most competitive priced rice protein I've found on Amazon, so that's a plus.
This stuff is so gross. I eat a lot of protein shakes. They all are gluten free and lactose free so most aren't great, to be honest. But this....this is chalk and the sweetener has a weird tates. I tried it in protein pancakes thinking the spices would get rid of the taste but it was still gross. I am going to suffer through it b/c I don't want to be wasteful but I will hate it.
I am new user to protein powders. We started with ORGAIN, which I love, but having a hard time finding it right now. COSTCO is out of stock...as are other on-line retailers. Amazon has it, but super high price (supply and demand, I'm sure.) Anyway, I decided to branch out and try other rice proteins, as that is the first ingredient in ORGAIN. Anyway, its OK. Pretty chalking, but not unbearable. Quite tasteless, in my opinion, which isn't all bad. It has a specific odor that I don't love, but can get past. I decided to order some monk fruit and Erythnitol (might have spelled that wrong)- sugar substitutes that are in ORGAIN. Hoping they will do the trick to make this a bit easier to consume. It is OK mixed in a smoothie with fruit, but...If I could just enjoy it shaken up in a blender bottle, that would be quicker and easier. We shall see...sugar substitutes should be delivered Thursday... I will post an update after I try it. BTW- I ordered a smaller container of the chocolate version of this...I taste no difference. They even smell the same. One other note- I am on day 9 of no sugar, no wheat/gluten/ no dairy 10 day detox. So my taste buds are quite "cleansed." Probably why I am being so picky!
Giving this five stars ("I love it") feels like a bit of a stretch since it's a vanilla rice protein powder (meaning it tastes about as exciting as it sounds) but it does the job in our morning smoothies and is vegan so my expectations are met. My husband drinks his with vanilla almond milk in one of those shake containers with the wire blender ball but I'm not that hardcore so I doctor mine up by putting it in the actual blender with a frozen banana, peanut butter powder, etc and find it makes for a nice, frothy smoothie that isn't chalky or lumpy. Even though the price has risen considerably over the years, this is still a much better deal than what it goes for at your local big chain health food store. We've tried other vegan protein powders but they've all been either incredibly pricey, have a nasty stevia taste, or both so this is our old reliable regular. My only issues with this product have been with the shipping- once the lid loosened so the other items in the box were covered in powder and once the USPS couldn't comprehend my address so delivery was several days late- but generally it arrives quickly with a sealed lid and we're happy.
