Relatively easy to put in place. Covered 10 Arborvitaes and 1 Alberta Spruce single handed. The zippered bags and draw strings facilitated their installation. The green color is preferable over burlap. Used Duck Tape to temporarily gather the excess, while wrapping the bags with 3 lengths of green string at intervals down the bag, to permanently gather the excess of the bag for the season; and prevent it from flapping in the wind. I live on a ridge in the mountains and the winds can become quite fierce. Removed the Duck Tape after the green string wrapping was in place. This is my first season with these Tree Covers, so only time will tell...hopefully I'll have 11 healthy looking trees come Spring when the covers are removed and stored for next season.

Nuvue Winter Tree Cover Bag (50 inch height) is made of robust material, providing excellent weather (or hungry deer) protection in winter. The robust zipper simplifies the installation of the rather spacious bag. A drawstring at the bottom ensures a secure fit. While secondary, the bags convey a ‘not unattractive’ image in the landscape. Available in 3 different sizes (and we own all 3 Nuvue tree cover bags, i.e. 84-inch, 60-inch, and 50-inch heights), we can recommend the bags without any reservation.

I'm using this cover as one item in my line of defense against freezes on my palm trees. So far so good my four palm trees have four hard freezes and two ice storms. Of course I'm also wrapping their trunks but this cover prevents wind damage and ice from accumulating on the fronds. With the zipper and the drawstrings, it's very easy to put in place and stays in place even in high winds.

I covered a young Butterflies magnolia tree and when I removed the cover, the trunk had been girdled by mice. I guess the cover provided the protection they needed.
