Nylabone Chews Best!
As dog parents, we understand how chewing is a natural activity for dogs. Since 1955, we’ve created fun and flavorful chew toys and chew treats of all shapes and sizes to help dogs chew their way through boredom, anxiety, destructive chewing, snack time—or simply for fun! Our collection has evolved to cover four essential categories: chew toys, chew treats, dental solutions, and puppy products. From curious puppies to active adults and gentle seniors, Nylabone can help every step of the way.
Every dog has a different chewing style and strength. That’s why we make chew toys in all different kinds of sizes, shapes, flavors, and textures. For chewers big and small, Nylabone chews best!
Nylabone Chewing Solutions for Every Dog
Dogs are chewers by nature and need mental and physical stimulation. If they’re not engaged enough, they may choose to create their own fun with your belongings. Long-lasting, durable dog chew toys can help fight destructive behaviors.
Lonely dogs may chew things as a means of self-soothing. When this goes unresolved, it can turn into full-blown separation anxiety. Provide your dog with durable, safe chew toys to keep him busy and happy.
Boredom in dogs is a common problem that is important to address because it can lead to destructive and even dangerous behaviors like chewing, digging, and excessive barking.
Caring for your dog’s teeth from puppyhood to adulthood can help prevent serious health issues. Our dental solutions make it easier to establish a simple dental care routine. Our dental chew toys and chew treats also help alleviate puppy teething pain and instill positive chewing habits during this critical stage.
Made from natural rubber to satisfy the chewing instinct of teething puppies and encourage non-destructive chewing. Bristles raised during chewing will help clean teeth and prevent tartar build up. Designed for teething puppies - Not recommended for adult dogs or puppies with any permanent teeth
Determine Your Dog's Size and Chewing Style
It is important that you get to know a dog’s chewing style and to select the appropriate type of chew and the proper size and formulation based on age, breed, chewing style and weight.
- Puppies – Use Nylabone puppy-specific products until permanent adult teeth start to develop. Products to try: Puppy Starter Kit, Teething Rings, Enhanced Rawhide

The pressure exerted by a dog’s jaw is considerable, and when directed straight down can put tremendous stress on the teeth. It is recommended that non-edible chews be large enough to encourage chewing from the side rather than the top and bottom. If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size. If you have more than one dog in your household, select chews appropriate for the largest, strongest chewer. If your dog is an especially strong chewer, a larger chew may provide more of a challenge. Remember to supervise the use of all chews and toys!
Find the Right Nylabone Product
Nylabone makes both Chew Toy and Edible Chew Products
Chew Toy (Non-Edible) Products (Plastic, Rubber and Nylon) are NOT intended for consumption. During normal chewing, tiny bristle-like projections are raised, which help clean teeth. If these tiny pieces (no larger than a small grain of rice) are ingested, they should pass through. A dog should not be able to break off larger piece of any Nylabone chew Toy (Non-Edible). If you think your dog swallowed a large piece of a Chew Toy (Non-Edible), take the chew away and contact your veterinarian for advice. No dog toy or chew is totally indestructible. Frequently inspect any chew before giving it to your dog to make sure it’s whole and intact, with no missing pieces. Replace a chew Toy when protruding ends are worn down, or if it becomes too small to chew safely. Nylabone Chews and Toys should not be boiled, placed in a dishwasher, washing machine, convection or microwave oven.
Edible Chew Products are treats. Their lifespan depends on how determined a chewer your dog is. These all-natural chews are edible and highly digestible. Supervise the use of all Edible chews to ensure that your dog does not bite off pieces too large to swallow. Natural color may stain light-colored surfaces. They are best enjoyed by a dog with all of its permanent teeth (usually around 6 months). Exceptions: Healthy Edibles and Nutri Dent for Puppies 3 months and older.
Rawhide is a natural product. It is important that the chew is large and thick enough that a dog cannot easily chew off and swallow a large piece or the whole chew. We recommend discarding rawhide when it has been enjoyed down to a small portion or if it requires more than 5 days to consume. Natural color may stain light-colored surfaces.
Edible Puppy Chew Products are designed for puppies 3 months of age and older. Please consult your veterinarian for the right time to start your puppy on edible chews.
Puppy Chew Toy (Non-Edible) Products are specially designed for young teething puppies. They should not be given to a dog with ANY permanent teeth, regardless of age.

Update - 9/29/13
At around 6 months our pup has all of her adult teeth in now. She just started taking larger pieces off of this chew toy this week. I am watching her closely and take the pieces away as she works them off, but I imagine we will have to toss it soon. Great for younger pups while they still have their puppy teeth in but not made to stand up to adult teeth.
She is a HEAVY CHEWER and was able to break down other toys pretty fast. This worked well.
I'd highly suggest this. It's soft/rubbery but definitely not too soft. I might try squishing some peanut butter into the nubs and freezing it for her as well.
For our 2 year old pug, not so much!
