The sequel introduces us to some relatives of Laurel and Aiden and that is when drama happens in the story. Aiden’s father in Nashville has been accused of murder, but first let’s just mention that Aiden never knew who is father was. This is going to be an interesting introduction to father and son in the story. Hi son, I’ve been accused of murder, but I’m so glad I finally got meet you. Yup…very interesting indeed. There’s also the fact that Bailey, the talking dog now has a back story on why he started talking. I’m so happy to know that he ended up with Laurel after getting to know his back story.
This book includes a lot of family drama, a little bit of mystery, and some cuteness with the two adorable main characters. I loved the ending with these two since they are definitely my favorite of the Nocturne Falls Universe. A bear shifter and nymph…just adorable together.
I give this book 4.5 stars and highly recommend it to readers of PNR, fans of the Nocturne Falls books, and fans of J.L. Carey.
I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Laurel, Aiden, Laurel's flighty but lovable sister,Aiden's partner, and their mysterious dog head out on a road trip to go try to help this man that Aiden's never met.
This was such a hoot. The group of characters together, and especially the road trip part with several different kinds of supernaturals crammed into one car, was amusing to picture.
I love the mixture of personalities and abilities, and how the author paired them together. I think they all fit so nicely together, and I really hope we get to see more of this humorous bunch. I love the story with Bailey, Laurel's dog- not only does he help solve the case, but we get to learn a little more about him and how he can do what he does. The introduction of Aurora, Laurel's sister was great. I thought she was going to be that annoying sibling that would cause trouble for everyone, but she wasn't. She's a force of nature to be sure, but you can't help but like her, and she fits perfectly with Wade, whose personality is as bright as his eyes.lots of fun, definitely glad tat JL Farey is part of the NFU
In this story we get to know them better, we get to know their friends and family better, as well as the story of Laurel's beautiful dog. This story does not contain a villain, as the first one, but is more focused on the relationships and resolving various issues. There is more focus on the side characters than in the first story and it contributed greatly to the world building and the character development.
Is is beautifully written and the characters are well developed. The author has set the characters firmly within Nocturne Falls, so even when they temporarily leave, it is expected of them to return where they belong. I really enjoyed both of the stories and I hope there will be more.
Nocturne Falls universe contains 25 books at the moment. Original Nocturne Falls series contains eight books and four short stories, as well as four books of the Jayne Frost spin off series. All of the series are great entertaining light read and I highly recommend them.
