First of all, I emailed Nyrius about this product with a question and they responded promptly which I consider a good experience. My concern was about latency between audio and video since I was running video through this device to a projector and audio FROM the same source but to a stereo receiver. Considering the split, any latency in the device would result in audio/video that were out of sync. They promised me that this was a ZERO latency device and they were right on. I plugged the device in and it worked immediately with no hassle at all. I have only had it for about a week but it has performed flawlessly so far and I would highly recommend it. I was looking in to HDMI to Ethernet;a long, clumsy component cable run; or some other cumbersome and sketchy solution for this problem. This product beats the pants off of all of the other, less reliable options.

My situation is: A bar environment, projector overhead, about 30 feet from the transmitter. The transmitter is inside a cabinet with closed wooden doors along with all of my A/V equipment, 3 linksys wifi routers, phone modem, etc. Device works with without interference. Hope this helps!

Works perfectly. I wanted to add a television in my kitchen. My layout is basically open, but a wall separates the rooms. I wanted to be able to work in the kitchen and watch the same station as my living room. This required a "powered" splitter. I used a "J-Tech Digital (TM) 2 Ports HDMI 1x2 Powered Splitter ($34.75 with Prime). You will need two additional HDMI Cables. I connected the DVR output to my splitter input. From the splitter, I connected one output to my Living Room TV and the other to the Nyrius Transmitter. The Nyrius receiver was placed on my Kitchen TV. Now whatever is playing on my DVR cable box is transmitted to my Kitchen TV. No Lag, video or audio. Walking from room to room you don't miss a thing.. even to just stir the pot.

So I was very disappointed to see the product would not work as advertised when extended past 20ft between two walls and two floors. I actually created an RMA for the product, but then I thought, "the stated max distance is line of sight and probably with the lowest bandwidth settings".

What I mean by "lowest bandwidth" is to make sure your input device is set to 480p or 480i and audio is set to compressed digital audio (don't use PCM). After I set my Comcast cable box, which is located in the basement, to 480p input, I was instantly able to keep a strong constant signal to my upstairs room (2 story colonial home with 45ft line-of-sight distance between two floors and one wall).

So, for everyone that is having issues with the video signal dropping out and audio dropping out, try setting the video and audio inputs to the transmitter to the lowest quality possible and work up from there to see how high you can set them. For me I'm fine with 480p because I have a small 21" LCD TV in the kid's room and since they are only watching Disney, I don't think it matters to much that it's not 1080p, even though the TV supports it.

I do feel however the manufacturer should disclose this when they advertise their "100ft" operating range, because it's very misleading.

Anyway if you're having the issue of a strong signal, try changing your input device resolution and leave a comment if it works for you.

I would have given this a 4.5 star only because the stated range is exaggerated, IMO. While it does work as long as both receiver and transmitter are on the same level, it wouldn't go through a floor from my basement to my main level, even thought the total distance between units was only maybe 30 feet. I think it's really dependent on each individual environment and may work better in some houses than others, so I can accept this. When used on the same level, it works great. The remote extender is great. I can control my wireless TV exactly like I do in front of the main unit. Picture and sound is great and there is no lag between sets. This is nice if I wanted to run two TVs at the same time from different rooms with the sound turned up on both. A good example would be for a sports viewing party with people viewing and mingling back and forth in different rooms.

Besides my family room and home theater, we wanted a TV in the kitchen and one in the loft, but didn't want the hassle and expense of adding cable boxes. I use my setup strictly for viewing cable TV, but my cable box only has one HDMI output. So I purchased an HDMI splitter and ran one HDMI from my cable box to the splitter, then one out to my main TV and the other to the transmitter. Works great. The perfect solution would be if your home theater receiver has two HDMI outputs. This way you could run one to the transmitter and then have access to all your components that you run through the receiver, i.e. PS3, Cable, XBox, etc. Great unit that meets my needs

I wanted to transmit HD TV about 30 feet from a TV in our family room (connected to a Verizon DVR) to a TV in our kitchen (unconnected to any video/audio source). This product worked perfectly right out of the box. Following the suggestion of other reviewers, I purchased a powered HDMI splitter (I bought a J-Tech Digital JTD0102/4K from Amazon; one HDMI input, two HDMI outputs). I connected the DVR to the HDMI input, then connected the family room TV to one of the HDMI outputs, and the Nyrius transmitter to the second output. An extra HDMI cable is needed. I connected the Nyrius receiver to the kitchen TV, and seconds later the kitchen TV was receiving HD TV. The total setup time was less than 10 minutes. There is a 2-3 second delay each time the kitchen TV is turned on (in order to establish and receive the initial signal), however, after that, voice and picture reception (in HD) were flawless and without any lag. I have not seen any impairment to my home wireless network.
