Replacing your general plug of power tool with this GFCI Plug, to protect you and your appliances from electric shock. when leakage of electricity takes place, the GFCI plug can break the circuit automatically within 0.03 second. Auto-reset when leakage is eliminated.

How to test?（DO NOT USE IF TEST FAILS!）

(1) Power on, plug into the receptacle

(2) Press RESET button, red indicator light ON

(3) Press TEST button, red indicator light OFF

(4) Press RESET button for use.

Step 1:

Cut off the original electrical plug and wired up this GFCI plug.

Step 2:

Place the Hotwire under the Brass-colored screw. Place the Ground wire under the green-colored screw.

Step 3:

Install the strain-relief clamp (the u-shaped piece of metal) over the outer cable exterior to help prevent a pulling force from pulling the wires out from the screws that are supplying the electricity.

Step 4:

Four screws to install and fix. Test it and make sure the red indicator light is ON before using.

Easy to install for hairdryer

This took me about 20 minutes to install on my hairdryer. Instructions weren’t fabulous, but it was pretty intuitive. I followed another reviewers advice and marked which side of the wire went to the larger prong of the old plug and matched that to the larger prong of the new plug. The plug is much bigger and heavier than the prior plug (see pics), but it appeared all of the options were. And it seemed more expensive than it should be - as you can get a whole hairdryer for the price. But if you have an expensive hairdryer or really like your dryer, than this will do the trick. Make sure you have enough space wherever you plug it in though!!

Replacement for Sun Joe pressure washer breaker

My Sun Joe pressure washer stopped working and a quick inspection showed that there was no power to the indicator light on the circuit breaker plug. When I examined the plug in detail I noticed that it was cracked and I guessed that it had failed. A quick google search gave me this as the alternative. Delivery was quick and fitting was straight forward - basically off with the old and on with the new - anyone who can change a plug can do this - no real specialist skill needed, it is a 10 minute job. Make sure you use the small rummer washers with the screws when closing the cover on the new plug. Job done - pressure washer back up and running perfectly.

Great replacement

I thought I was going to have to replace my old pressure washer. The GFCI plug was clicking and rattling and the little red light was barely visible. It would not turn on. This was a simple wire swap and took about 10 minutes. Pressure washer works perfectly fine again. I have attached a picture of the old one and the replacement.

A two-prong, solidly constructed replacement plug.

This worked for my needs, which was repairing my wife's hairdryer. The original plug failed, and resoldering the leads to the board of that old plug was an extremely temporary solution. This plug was exactly what I was looking for. It includes screw-clamp terminals, an internal strain relief for the cord (this is very important to ensure the leads stay secure over a long period of use) and a reasonable rubber grommet to support the cord and discourage water entry to the guts of the plug.

If I'm nitpicking, the only downsides of this plug are the large size (it's not huge, and the size is probably necessitated by the user-serviceable wiring compartment) and the single provided grommet which is sized for a relatively heavy cord. My hairdryer is a salon-style unit with a heavier-than-average cord, and the ID of the grommet is still larger than I'd like for this application. It'd be great if the product included a few different IDs of grommets to match with various cord sizes.

The build quality seems very solid. Hopefully the "guts" are built to last, as well.

High quality replacement plug

This plug arrived within two days of order. It seems well made. I particularly like the design that clamps the cord inside this plug so that an accidental pull on the cord will not put undue pressure on the wire connections inside. I replaced a microwave oven plug that melted down because the built-in microwave had gotten pushed back against the original plug and caused a melt down. Replacement cord from GE is no longer available and would be exorbitantly expensive if it were. It took only a few minutes to install and place spacers against the rear of the microwave receptacle to prevent the unit from being pushed back far enough to press the reset button on the plug. It works. I will probably purchase another one if a plug on any of my other devices is damaged and needs to be replaced. The ground fault feature is a most desirable one.

Excellent ... Saved my power washer!

In my haste navigating around the pool with my powerwasher, I heard a plop, then my pressure washer went silent!! The power supply and electrical cord had fallen into the pool! Thankfully, the power supply had a built in GCFI (ground circuit fault interrupter) and it was connected to a GCFI outdoor outlet as well. And the only thing floating in the pool was my raft, and it didn’t get electrocuted!

I unplugged everything, let it dry out and tried to use it. Well, after a lot of popping noises, smoke emitted from the small black power supply. So, I wondered if I could cut the cord and install a new power supply? A quick search on Amazon and I found my replacement pieces but I needed more info on wires, amps, etc so I took the unit’s GCFI apart….super easy with a small screw driver … 2 wires, 60 amps…then I ordered the replacement part!

That’s why I love Amazon…and am a self professed Amaholic.

It took me about 3 minutes to re-wire the new replacement unit…paying close attention to the polarity of the wires. Powered it up, it works! It was super simple!

Add pressure washer AND ELECTRICIAN to my resume. 😂🤣😂

When my boyfriend wanted to borrow my hairdryer to lift the decals of the Jeep, I thought to myself, "What could go wrong?" So, I gave my trusty, near 15 year old hair dryer (yes, it's that old) to him. A few hours later, he's got all the decals removed. "SUPPER IS READY! Don't break my hair dryer!" I say from the kitchen towards the open garage door. "Ok, sweetheart!" Comes the reply. I set the table. He comes in and looks utterly defeated. "I ran over your hair dryer," he says. I contacted the company and they are sending a new unit, but in the meantime I thought the most obvious solution would be to replace the ground fault plug since when I plugged it in, neither of the test or reset buttons did anything. I figured that was the problem.

I received this, replaced the original ground fault plug, plugged it in and it worked like a charm! Glad I didn't have to wait to receive the replacement pump from the company.
