Now, I have no idea how good this case protects in the event of a fall. I have not dropped my LG V10 since I received my case on Black Friday. However, I had a Spiegen clear case on my previous phone, a LG G3. I dropped that phone on a ceramic tile floor at least 5 times. The screen never cracked (I also had a Zagg tempered glass screen protector on it). The OBLIQ case feels just as thick and well constructed as that Spiegen case. So I am hopeful that it will do just as good of a job at protecting my cell phone. I am also going to add a Zagg tempered glass screen protector to my LG V10 but so far the local Best Buy does not carry it. I believe the combo of the Zagg and the OBLIQ will do the job.
Again, my favorite feature of this case is its exact look & feel (but with better sides) of the original back cover of the LG V10. I just don't understand why cell phone manufacturers make gorgeous looking cell phones but make them so fragile that you typically have to go buy a case (often an ugly case) that conceals the beauty of the phone. Why buy a beautiful cell phone that you have to cover up?? I nearly bought the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + but did not do so for just that reason. It is a gorgeous cell phone, the most beautiful of any on the market, but also has both a glass front and a glass back. Which leaves you with no choice but to go buy a case that will conceal that beauty from not only the eye of others but even your own eye. OBLIQ seems to be the only case manufacturer that understands that paradox, and to have solved it, very much to my satisfaction so far.
As for the fingerprint sensor not working when the case is on my LG V10, I have no idea since I have not tried it yet and probably will not for medical reasons pertaining to a need to make my phone easily accessible by first responders if needed.
EDIT: 11/30/15 -- With the help of a great video on YouTube, I just tried to set up the fingerprint scanner. Doing so was a piece of cake. And this case by OBLIQ does not interfere with using the fingerprint scanner at all. On a different note, I haven't checked yet but I am hoping that OBLIQ also makes a white case. If so, that will be awesome. I will be able to have a black phone one day, a white one the next, and back & forth as I desire. That is BRILLIANT! Companies like OBLIQ that know how to adapt like that are the kind of nimble and far sighted competitors that will thrive. (And no, I do not work for or own stock in OBLIQ, though I wish I did own their stock. I am just a very happy customer who rarely writes reviews unless a product maker truly wows me. Except for books, of course, since I am an author.)
EDIT: 12/02/15 TIP ON GETTING THE FINGERPRINT SCANNER TO WORK WITH THIS CASE -- Be sure to press your finger on the scanner at different angles rather than at exactly the same angle each time. Also, add a second print for the scanner but use the same finger you used the first time. That will give the scanning software a very thorough record of that finger. Also, when I set up my finger, the process repeatedly got stuck in the 60 percentile range. Don't give up, it just takes several more tries when you get stuck in a percentile range (to a lesser extent, I also got stuck in the 40s). I think a lot of the reviewers who are saying the fingerprint scanner will not work with this case are just giving up too easily and/or using the exact same angle each time they tap their finger on the scanner. In addition of tapping the sensor with the exact middle of your finger tip each time, also tap with your finger tip rolled a small to the sides. IMO, this case is not the problem, the problem is their method of tapping the scanner. And don't be surprised if it takes 100 times or more of tapping your finger. Also, don't tap too hard.

When this case arrived, I was very happy with the apparent quality of the case itself. The material seems like it is of at-least-decent quality, and care went into designing and constructing the case: The back mimics the OEM battery case door, and adds some grip; the cutouts for things like the camera, the flash, buttons, microphone and headphone port, etc. are all seemingly-perfectly size and positioned; and there is some roughness, if you will, added to the sides of the case that provides additional grip when holding the phone with one hand.
The case is very light, and very thin- When you take the case back off, there is a barely perceptible (if perceptible at all) change in weight, and the added thickness is barely noticeable at all. This is honestly one of the thinnest and lightest cases I have seen for a phone; but at the same time, the protection seems like it will be very good. The material is thick and strong enough that you don't have to worry about it falling apart, or anything like that, and there is a lip on the front side which offers protection for the screen when you lay it down on the front side/screen. The manufacturer states that the corners are reinforced, but I obviously haven't purposely tested that out myself! Fingers crossed that it is shock absorber like they indicate...
One thing that I have noticed is that people mention the fingerprint sensor not working.... I am not sure if people have tried this already and it *still* doesn't work, but based on the way fingerprint sensors work (especially the ones on smartphones), you might want to try to putting the case on and THEN setting up your fingerprints in the phone. While the case is, in fact, very thin, it does still add some thickness to the body of the phone, so your finger will naturally be placed against the sensor at a different angle and/or with different pressure; so the image that the phone has on file from before may be different, or for a different part of the pad of your finger, than what you are using now that you have the case on there. The button and sensor is 100% clear of obstructions (e.g. the case does not overlap or cover any part of the button), so there is no reason that the sensor *shouldn't* work.
Overall, great case that offers the level of protection that most users require while adding very-minimal bulk and weight to the phone, plus retains the V10's OEM appearance. Definitely worth the money, especially if you don't want to drop the $25-$50 on some of the other cases out there.
