This game is constructed of an interesting foam with a high quality overlay. The pieces come apart and back together as small puzzle - Very cool!. The pieces are actually magnetic and could be used in many ways outside of the mat as support for other math practice on the fridge or white board. The tiles represent the numbers 1-20 in four ways as food for each of the animals. I will be using to help with word problems outside of the game - for example: If the rabbit eats 2 carrots and the parrot eats three peppers - how many food items do we need? I am very excited about the versatility of this game. The game is directed at younger kids. The pieces do require the ability to visually discriminate the images on the tiles above 10 (think dominos) - this is an area of challenge for us, but carrots and dog bones are more fun to count than dots on a domino - so its one more tool in our learning / homeschool toolbox. This is a high quality produced game - I look forward to opening the others we bought from LogicRoots! Thank you!

My boy loves math, and this game...just wasn't any fun. I'm not sure what is was - maybe because the numbers are random, so there is no clear progression to win. You move your guy randomly, and then, 30 minutes later someone wins. I had high hopes when I bought it, but it's stayed on the shelf and doesn't get played.

I bought this game for my 5 year old twins, since they love board games. This has turned into one of my favorite games to play with them. They have so much fun with this game. I love it because they are practicing their math and don't even realize it. I will say the company that came up with this game put a lot of thought in it. One of the things I love is that the numbers on the game board are not in order, so they cannot just count on the board. They actually have to add the numbers together and then find the number on the board. For anyone thinking about purchasing this product, do it. I am ready to purchase other games from this company.

We used this for our math class yesterday -- they had a blast adding and subtracting the numbers -- the story lines for the games are cute, and my kids loved the aliens -- I think my 4th grader enjoyed this more than my 2nd grader -- they just kept laughing -- the addition one reminds me of Chutes and Ladders (but more fun because the numbers are out of order -- I would ask the kids what number they wanted or did not want before they rolled to make them think) and I liked the subtraction one better because their was a little more strategy (which piece should I move - which one will send someone back to their ship or make me lose a turn) -- these games were a lot of fun!

Its flimsy cardboard and some cheap plastic playing pieces to play a game that isnt very good in the first place. Not for learning and not for fun. It's a RIP off with some award winning stamps advertised next to it pumped to you directly from china.

My 5 year old only played with the Cloud Hopper because he liked the aliens and clouds. He was not interested in the actual game. My 7 year old played Ocean Raiders with me, we did 2 variations of the game, and after that, these did nothing but collect dust and make me wish I hadn't wasted my money...
I appreciate what they're trying to do... fun + educational game... It's just not nearly as interesting enough or "cute" looking enough to make my kids say- Oh, let's play those games again! I may donate them to my kids' school...

I appreciated the example they gave as to how to finger count to add the numbers together to move across the board. Ocean Raiders is a maths game for 2-4 children in Grade 1 +, which I believe is the UK equivalent of Year 2 and above. It arrived in a beautifully presented box, with a play board, whiteboard pens, counters, dice, poster, wipe-clean cloth, logic 'slates' and instructions. The instructions came with a QR code which is really useful for those who don't like flicking through instruction manuals, and also contains additional information. The board itself was reminiscent of the traditional snakes and ladders setup, but with notable differences; an oceanic theme/storyline; gameplay moves from top to bottom; numbers are roughly in rows of tens increasing as you move downwards, but each row is not sequential; there are 'typhoons' instead of snakes/ladders which can move you forward or backwards (the colour indicates the difference here). The magical number to attain is 49.The basic gameplay is this; each player takes turns to roll a dice. On the next go, you add your new dice roll to the position you are on. For example, if you are on 5 and roll a 3, you would move to 8. As the places are not sequential, you have to actively look for the next place you need to move to. A wrong move places you back at your original position and you miss a turn. Logic slates are available to help 'count on' and attain the correct number. This is effectively a counting on game, and players can choose to use logic slates and are also encouraged to use the 'fingers down' method of counting on from a number to minimise any mistakes in calculations. Imagination is key here - the game encourages a narrative of underwater explorers seeking treasure (in sector 49), so children can create their own story arcs to match their progress in the game. The game itself supports number recognition, sequencing and addition with or without carrying. There are 'extension' games that can be played, and variations are encouraged to develop more advanced numeracy skills (and an email address is supplied to request further ideas from the manufacturer). One variation that I liked was the subtraction back from sector 49, to return the players to their ship. As a UK user, it is clear the terminology is American English but this is a very minor issue. I would say children in Reception and Year 1 would be able to play this game with the support of an adult - my daughter is in Year 1 and enjoyed counting on with her fingers independently and the challenge of trying to find the non-sequential next step. The logic slates are a really nice touch to offer differentiated support systems to counting and reinforcing counting in sequence. Lovely game, highly recommended.

Brilliant looking game, bright colours and fun pictures/characters which caught my daughters eyes immediately.
Although she's only 3 she lives learning, numbers and counting ect so adding that into a board game is great, so eventhough this game is aimed at children 5+ with a little bit of help and explaining my daughter really enjoyed it.
I like that the numbers are not "in order" like they would be on other games but still sort of close to where they should be so instead of jumping to the next box where the next number would usually be they have to pay attention and recognise the number they need and look for it which is one of my daughters favourite things about this game, even though she has difficulty adding the bigger numbers she loves looking for the number she needs so if ypu have older children that can play this game well you can still include the younger ones and just help them along the way, I love that it's very similar to snakes and ladders which is a very popular game that everyone understands even the "older" big kids 😄
It's great fun trying to get to 49 to win the treasure while fighting your way through whirlpools and not getting sent back up the board, I love that this also teaches them that if they do get sent back up it doesn't matter that they can catch up and go forward again.
You get little boards included in the box that are for writing numbers and helping them add, although most of the kids my daughter played this with found it easier to use their hands to add.
So over all we loved this game, it had my daughters attention for more than 30 seconds which meant we could spend time as a family having fun but also learning at the same time, the instructions were also easy to understand with extra little tips and tricks

I got this board game to help my dyslexic 7 year get some additional confidence with maths.

This is a really easy game to set up, it is a simple adding game with a hint of snakes and ladders.

Although quite a simple game there are additional options to change the game to slightly change things up and keep things interesting,

The quality of the game is good, the branding is interesting to kids and catches the eye. Everything you need to play each variation of the game is included.

This is quite simple a game for my 7 year old and very easy for him to understand. I would recommend for a 5/6 year old.

I am very happy with this board game and will be buying other games .

The game play and the rules are very simple for young kids to understand and play with. You role a dice in each turn and add the number on the dice to current postion till you reach treausre which is not easy because of all the dangers that lie under the ocean.
