Based on a cutting-edge new architecture, Vertex 2 Solid State Drives deliver unprecedented performance while maintaining an affordable storage solution for early adopters looking to update their systems with the latest technology. OCZ designed the Vertex 2 to excel in both sequential and random read/write rates to take your PC or notebook productivity to the next level, featuring superb 4k random writes up to 50,000 IOPS to give a performance edge over the previous generation. Using the latest controller technology, Vertex 2 not only provides a faster, more responsive PC experience, but promotes cooler, quieter, and more energy efficient conditions compared to traditional mechanical hard drives. With solid performance coupled with supreme reliability, the Vertex 2 is designed to push the envelope in storage technology for those who place a premium on speed, reliability and efficiency, but demand the affordability of MLC flash memory. Built with SATA 3Gb/s, the Vertex 2 Series easily integrates into today’s mobile and desktop platforms and features TRIM support to optimize performance over the drive’s lifespan as the ultimate Windows 7 notebook or desktop upgrade.

Speed wise, these drives are fast. But they are useless if they are just gonna die with no warning. Computer will hang / BSOD frequently leading up to the failure, and one day you will boot to find the computer no longer recognizes the drive.
I will say that the RMA process is relatively simple. The whole thing took less than two weeks. However, it's still not a process I wish to repeat every six months.
These are cheaper for a reason. If you're going to spend extra for an SSD anyway, you may as well go with an Intel.
It is really fast and easy to intall.... The tech support is not bad.
The only bad thing is I can't get the new firmware updated. It gives error everytime I try to upgrade but the drive itselfs works great.

I have loads of images, fine as is for working with any stored on ssd and saving after to 1tb for final storage, but for looking for particular images amongst the many folders already stored might prove faster with os on same drive because of the delay in thumbs showing pics, etc.
Find that frustrating, though programs respond superfast, working times not increased by having them on ssd so far as my stitching prog goes. Early days.
Would be great for response to images/viewing stored on ssd, but limited size to price beyond the ordinary pocket.
What would be more useful as Its installed 64bit os would be to have true 64 bit versions of my software. As it is I have no problems multitasking, but as to individual processing times for my image work, most of my hardware is redundant due to said limitations imposed by software. Something to bear in mind before lashing out on multicores, ram, and solidstate drives, thinking it will increase your workflow.
Seitdem habe ich eine Samsung SSD verbaut und bin mehr als zufrieden.
