This is by far the worst drive I have ever used. It failed within a month. I had not even set up my new computer fully with the GPUs and aftermarket CPU cooler before it failed. Delayed me so much in building my PC. I decided to pry open an old External HDD and use the 2.5" 500GB, ancient, HDD located inside of it. My computer did suffer so much from having to use the External HDD as a boot drive. I will never buy from this series of the Vertex Drives from OCZ. I have heard great things on the Vertex 4 Series but I am a bit sceptical. I will most likely end up with a Crucial m4, Kingston HyperX 3K, or maybe a Samsung 840 Series SSD. I recommend this drive to no one at all. I only got this drive to save a bit of money but I wish I hadn't. Spend your valuable money elsewhere on SSDs.

It was a replacement for a similar unit that we had die in a machine. Other units got the Vertex 4 equivalent. Both function properly the better performance of the Vertex 4 means that it really isn't worth getting the Vertex 3 anymore.

Holy smokes Batman.... This SSD just gave my computer a shot of steroids..... This is like going from dial-up to high-speed DSL X 10. With my Intel i7 core, everything I do within my computer happens at the moment I click it. It's like, totally exhilarating. It's 100+ percent improvement. I'm going to upgrade my other computer with the i3 core.

Using Apricorn SATA Wire Notebook Hard Drive Upgrade Kit with USB 3.0 Connector, It took exactly 2 hours and 4 minutes at 25.8 MB/s (USB 3) to copy my old drive(168 gig of DATA to 240 gig SSD), then another 7 minutes to decompress/re-size. Then another 45 minutes to swap hard drives (plus clean out a little dust) and I was up and running. I boot up in about 15 or 18 seconds. It's hard to tell because I have to do a little log-in. But it is smoking fast

Absolutely no issues with this SSD. 2 thumbs up big time...! My laptop that received this drive is a DELL XPS 15Z 2 years old

While 120GB is quite paltry these days even in the world of SSDs, this drive is exactly what I needed for a quick boot-up for my main desktop system. With Windows, some very commonly used programs, and temp files on the SSD I still have have the drive left over.

I tested the drive's speed and found a top speed of 528MB/s and an average of 520MS/s. A little short of OCZs claim but I will take it. I did not test the drive brand new and am happy to get these speeds even after 6 months of solid use.

I have used other SSDs and have had problems with them not showing in the BIOS, not formatting correctly, etc... I had none of these problems with this drive it was simple as plug-n-play.

Great product from a great company. I could not be happier with the drive; just wish it was bigger!
