I first tried this remote keyboard on my Fire TV and I could get nothing to work, then I tried it on my PC, after taking a close look at the battery area I noticed that the + side connectors where likely not making contact with the battery, they are made out of a coiled spring similar to the – side but squished flat along with a plastic housing that goes outside of it. After pulling the + connectors out a bit with a wall tack, put the batteries back in and presto it works. Bottom line if you first get it, put in the batteries press any button and don’t see the blue LED go off check the battery connection. After I got it to work on my PC, I plugged it back into the fire TV and it works there as well.

The wii style mouse works ok on the PC but does not work well on the fire tv, the up / down / left / right & enter buttons work ok for navigation.

General quality is about the same as any general TV remote I have.

Keys are laid out well along with an ok grip size for typing, if your used to texting on a smart phone this has a lot more space.

For what it is the price is fine and it shows up in a few days, no month + wait from Asia.

The keyboard function works in the Fire TV general search, Fire Tube and Vivo but I could not get it to work in the youtube app.

The Key Layout is slightly different than what's shown in the pics.

One other big thing missing is a play / pause FF & rewind buttons that the Fire TV remote does have.

Last item is the actual USB Receiver fits very tight into the Fire TV and even into the USB extension I have on my PC.

I AM UPPERCASED TO GET YOUR ATTENTION. ***THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH THE AMAZON FIRE TV STICK*** NOT TO MENTION THAT THE ONLY WAY TO EVEN GET IT TO WORK IS "IF AND ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE AMAZON FIRE TV BOX---TO PLUG IN THE USB DONGLE THAT IS INCLUDED WITH THIS STRANGE REMOTE" PERIOD. BOO-YAH!!! BECAUSE I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO FUNCTION WITH MY LOGITECH REVUE UNIT---AND YOU HAVE TO TURN IT SIDEWAYS LIKE A REGULAR REMOTE IN ORDER TO DO SO. BOO-YAH AGAIN!!!!
JUST PLUG THE DONGLE FOUND ON THE INSIDE OF THIS REMOTE INTO THE BACK OF THE LOGITECH REVUE GOGGLE TV LITTLE BOX WHERE THERE ARE TWO "USB" PORTS. AND FINGER WITH THE SETTINGS AND "BAM". FOR THAT IT GETS 4STARS. WELL WORTH THE $13, AND DELIVERED ABOUT 7-10 DAYS FREE SHIPPING. THANKS AMAZON.
Also: This remote has NO OPTIONS FOR CODE ENTRY for multiple devices like a regular universal remote!!

Not sure why this is getting good reviews. Cheaply made and instructions don't make sense. And the device does not light up to indicate that it is at least on. Fresh batteries are installed. No instructions that really explicitly mention Kindle Fire tv. Yet it is sold to control the Kindle Fire TV.

Just say no for use with the Kindle Fire TV keypad.

I had a different experience from the first reviewer. It worked straight from the box as soon as I hooked it up to my Amazon Fire TV.

The way the pointer jumps around the screen takes some getting used to, but if I don't enable that part of it, it won't be a problem.

I would have expected them to throw in a couple of AAA batteries, but for $15.99, I can splurge on a few.
