I can't believe I haven't wrote a review for this rod yet. I picked it up over a year ago but it was around that time I switched back to spinning gear. It came to this spring (nearly a year later!) and I had to dedicate time to crankbaits in order to effectively fish the shad spawn. Finally this rod got paired up with my Shimano Casitas and became the perfect crank/finesse combo.
I've caught countless giants on this rod and several 20+ lb carp. One was breaking 30lbs and I was fishing out of a kayak. This rod has an incredible hidden backbone and kept the carps pinned through crazy pulls at stupid angles and even survived getting line wrapped during attempted nettings.
The micro guides on this thing are great, and I scratch my head how Okuma was able to put these on a rod at this price point. Combined with the soft yet sensitive material of the rod, it casts like a dream and can easily handle most finesse rigs.
The only negative thing I have to say was the shipping packaging was sort of janky, it was in a large shipping box by its self, and the box had almost been folded in half. Luckily the rod was not damaged.
Finally, I caught my P.B. Bass on this thing. If it weren't for the rod I would have most likely lost this fish.
