I smile every time I pick up this light. It is so SMALL, yet so BRIGHT! Build quality is excellent too. Most folks will use this light with a CR123 lithium battery. I use an RCR123 rechargable lithium ion battery. This battery puts out more juice, which can cause heat problems.

Because this light is so tiny, it can get hot. When you use the highest power setting, you definitely have to hold on to it, so that you will know when the light is getting hot. You must then reduce power. If you leave the light sitting on a shelf, then you won't know when it is heating up. Also, your hand provides some cooling to the light, because of your circulating bloodstream.

I don't consider this to be a defect. If you want a small light, you get heat build-up. This light is SMALL. I find that the medium power setting of this light is bright enough to be very useful, and there is not a heat problem. The highest power setting is just a bonus, as far as I'm concerned.

The aluminum body of the flashlight is thin. It is strong enough, but you won't get away with mistreating this flashlight. It will probably survive a drop to the floor, but don't let if fall off a cliff.

My biggest complaint about this light is that the light coming out of it has a greenish tint. The amount of green you get depends on your luck. Olight is (in)famous for this issue. FYI, green light makes faces (among other objects) look ugly.

This little beast of a light is very bright. If i tail stand it in a room and have it on high, it is light up the room well enough to read! The low mode is great for night hikes and lasts forever! I still have the original battery in it and i've used it quite a bit, so i am very pleased with the battery life. It's only marginally larger than a AA battery! It is a decent bit fatter but not much longer.

One of the people i was on a hike with had a Coleman 2XAA extreme hunter light with him and we were standing on a bridge in the woods looking down into a river looking for fish. He was shining his light down in the river and couldn't see much, so i turned high mode on in this light and it blew his flashlight away even though it was 1/3 the size!

Really, just a great flashlight! The only possible complaint is that the batteries are expensive... That's true if you buy them at a box store, you'll pay $4.50+ per battery, but if you order them online, you can get them as cheap as $1.00/battery i bought a 12 pack of good cr123a's on amazon for around 12.95 shipped. With the battery life on this, i really doubt you'll feel the bite in your wallet to keep this light fed.

I also have a love for flashlights. The brighter the better, but this small little light packs a light punch. I carry one in my pocket, without feeling too bulky, I keep one in my EDC bag, one in each of my cars. It has three levels of brightness. Low, Med, High. I wish it had a button switch instead of it's current two handed twist method. It took me a minute to figure it out, I'm a guy, of course I didn't read the direction first, and what you have to do is hold the lens and twist the body to the right once for low, again for medium and again for high. You just twist to the left to shut off. It requires two hands, but the fact that it is bright and the CR123 batteries last a while even though I always use high mode. I sometimes use it as a lantern when I am in a room that is dark. It will stand on its end and point toward the ceiling and it lights up the room. I have left it on for and hour and a half and it gets hot, but not too hot, nor does it shut down from overheating. If you want a small bright light, this is a good quality one that is very energy efficient. I have many flashlights and a lot of them eat batteries but a light that won't light is no good, no matter how bright it is supposed to be.

My typical keychain lights used either two CR2032 watch batteries or a single AA or AAA cell. On a good day, I might get a dim 10 lumens with the old lights. The size of this new light is just as pictured in that it is the same volume as my thumb (push your thumb into the snow up to your hand, the hole will entirely contain this light). This small size is a bit large on a keychain, but certainly tolerable.

Twisting the head gently until it stops turns the light on to the low setting. The low light setting is dim enough to not ruin night vision, yet bright enough to be useful for walking through a dark room and not tripping over kid toys. To get the brighter setting, you twist the head back to off and then quickly back to on again. You can repeat this again for the blazing death ray setting. At the full 180 lumens of brightness, the light is painful to look into even with tightly closed eyes, but this is very useful for looking across a darkened yard. This thumb light puts out more light than my old, 4D Cell Mag light from the 1990's.

The battery is rather expensive and so it is great that the light comes with one. For my purposes, the battery should last a very long time because I use this only intermittently. When in my pocket, the head on the flashlight is turned far enough into the off position that it won't turn on accidentally. This is a big improvement over my push-button keychain light that spent most of its on-time in my pocket wasting batteries. The twist-on switch which requires two hands is not as convenient as a push-button switch, but I have gotten used to it.

Knowing how to turn it on and off is covered well in these reviews. It is not covered well in the instructions.
