My son's check engine light came on the other night so I got online and after reading the reviews, I bought this handy little device. It was able to give us an idea immediately, of where the issue was located. Sadly, the repair is costly but it did what it was supposed to do. Great value for the money as there are some out there that are so expensive. I think every household should have one of these and I don't understand why I didn't buy it sooner!

When I ordered this product I was fearful that it would be complicated to operate. Boy, was I wrong. It is one of the most self explanatory tools that I have ever encountered. I didn't even need the instructions. It gives you the code and also an explanation of the problem and then gives you an opportunity to turn off the check engine light. This is one great tool.

To figure out what had made my over 15 years old Rav 4’s engine light on, I borrowed my friend’s OBD first, but couldn't make it work. Then I had to careful pick an OBD that would work for my car. Finally I bought this one since it is Amazon’s Choice. Yes, this OBD worked and indicated it was not the problem from engine itself that triggered engine light on. Even though I had to take my car to a shop to get things straighten out, but the communication became a lot of easier when I told the error code at the first place.
Definitely recommend this OBD, especially for old cars.

This is perfect for a quick test to see what might be going on with your car. I was able to save myself at least a diagnostics fee by using this to determine I had an issue with my gas cap.

It was simple to follow the directions in the manual (and on the screen). Plug this into your vehicle, turn on the car, and follow the prompts.

This machine is great for at least having an idea where to start, and it could mean that you can make sure that what is needed to be repaired is actually being repaired!
