About Omega One
In 1998 in Sitka, Alaska, two brothers invented and patented the process of making fish foods directly from wild-caught, fresh Alaskan seafood. Omega One LLC, the company, was founded, and Omega One, the brand, was introduced. This revolutionary concept broke the mold in a 40-year industry, providing hobbyists with a brand of unsurpassed quality and nutrition. Unlike other fish foods on the market, you will see that there is no fishmeal in our foods. Instead, we use Alaskan seafood such as salmon, herring, and shrimp for our protein sources. These ingredients, rich in natural fats and proteins, are purchased direct from sustainable Alaskan fisheries.
From the Sea to the Shelf
THE INGREDIENTS MATTER
Omega One increases fish immunity. It is made directly from superfoods like salmon and herring, which are loaded with Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. These essential fatty acids provide energy and strengthen the delicate fish immune system, leading to decreased rates of disease and mortality.
Omega One fish foods are meal-free and made from the freshest cold-water proteins. When you start with raw, unprocessed proteins like we do and cook them just once, they naturally bind together creating an impenetrable bond, leaving your aquarium cleaner.
NATURAL COLOR ENHANCEMENT
Our ingredients contain a high level of naturally occurring pigments called beta-carotenes. With nearly a 100% transfer rate to the skin of ornamental fish, these beta-carotenes will restore the true colors of your fish, making them as vibrant as they are healthy.
Delicious recipe of fresh, cold water seafood blended specifically to enhance the levels of Omega 6 fatty acids. Omega 6 fatty acids are extremely valuable to freshwater species for strong immune systems and cell wall development. Low ash and higher quality proteins mean less pollution in the tank.

They are ok. They are chunks about the size of a marble. It is was way too much food for our tank so I have to break them up. This creates a mega mess. I guess I was envisioning the freeze dried bloodworms we have where it is easy to get a pinch of food. The fish like them, though, so that is a plus!
After a couple searches and reading of all of the reviews, I came across this one. I ordered it and tried it immediately upon arrival. The pellets looked HUGE so I was a bit concerned until I picked one up and felt how soft it was. It's easily crumbled into a fine powder by your fingers alone, but personally, I just broke them into miniature chunks and placed some in my tanks.
My three adult mollies went crazy for it and tore the smaller chunk to bits in no time, my fry too went crazy for it and slowly, as a team, tore apart the chunk as well. I personally was not a fan of pouring in the powder as it was a bit messy, but if you break up the pellets into smaller chunks, they're so soft, they're easy for the fish to break apart and eat.
I fully recommend if you're looking for great quality, reasonably priced, freeze dried brine shrimp. It's much easier and less messy than attempting to hatch them yourself!
The freeze-dried brine shrimp is one of my go-to products for my community tanks. The shrimp are packaged as little cubes that break apart easily in your fingers. I will usually grind up about half a cube and sprinkle it into my community tanks to get the fish riled up and wanting more food. The brine shrimp draw everybody out, even my reclusive knifefish that is nocturnal.
I have no issues with this food except that when you break it up you will get a bit of dusty tiny particles that fall off the larger chunks. If care is not taken, this can lead to a lot of particulates floating around the tank. This is why I primarily use this product in small amounts prior to the main foods such as my flakes, worms, and pellets, which tend to get eaten quickly. If you have lots of water flow, either from your filters or powerheads, the brine shrimp will get blown all over your tank.
Using the larger pieces for your fish and saving the dust for fry tanks would be a great idea.
