5.0 out of 5 stars Easy like sunday morning.
By Sensible on June 20, 2022
Wanted show this work horse of a grinder off with its ability to keep a beautifully consistent grind. Now, I have an electric burr grinder because we live in the 21st century, and I'm not a savage, however, with an infant on the way I realize I can't just start up my "ear drum f#&!er 3000" electric grinder at 5:30 am and not expect my kid to start screaming at the same frequency that my grinder makes while crushing dad's little life saving energy beans. In comes this monster of a bean cracker that evenly and efficiently breaks down those sweet sweet little poompy doomp producers that keep me energized and regular. I drink vietnamese style drip coffee, so, I keep it to a medium-fine grind, or just enough to where the grinds don't fall through the phin filter, but only because I work in healthcare and need more caffeine than what is safe for human consumption. This grinder allows me to create the finest grind of coffee to ensure my tolerance and patience for infant / patient screaming is filled to the brim every single morning, because as sure as the sun rises both of them will have something to complain about. It grinds the beans faster than my patients ask for another dose of "that good IV medication that starts with a D", it took me less than 30 seconds to grind that amount. Thank all the gods, old and the new, for this manual grinder. I fear that without it my parenting and healthcare practice wouldn't be as good as they could be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ended my relationship with the Keurig
By silversmith on April 8, 2022
Actually bought this grinder for an RV trip to AZ this winter and used it to grind beans for a French press. Loved the coffee flavor so much I continued grinding when I returned. I transitioned to a percolator and still get that great morning strong coffee flavor. Not that the Keurig cups are bad, I had a love affair with the Starbucks Pike KCups, it’s the price of the KCups, they are out of control. A bag of French dark roast Starbucks beans cost around $15 on sale at Costco. A bag lasts 3 months. The savings is around $100 in three months or around $400 a year. Yes, not as convenient, but every dollar saved is a dollar earned. I would argue no compromised flavor and may be better. I’m experimenting extending the life of the large bag of beans by vacuum packing. I had no problem with 3 months just using the store packaging in the winter dry weather but want to take advantage of stocking beans on sale. Included is a photo of my rig. Love the morning ritual. “The best part of waking up”…….you know the rest. You millennials will need to tap the older folks!
