Pros: Built well, low price, blown fuse L.E.D. indicator lights
Cons: Aside from not being more water-resistan there's no real cons for this item.
I like the idea of the red lights that illuminate when a fuse is blown. The description doesn't specifically say it, but the lights remain dark when everything is OK. If you're not using a circuit--no fuse plugged in and no wire plugged into a tab--the light for that circuit remains dark. This is good because having the light on all the time would allow for a constant drain on the battery... slight, yes, but a drain nonetheless.
The plastic cover is nice and provides for a clean installation. I'd call it water resistant, but not waterproof. Also, I've installed other fuseblocks in the past that come with a rubber boot to cover the power input stud. This one didn't come with a boot so I just installed a short piece of heat shrink tubing to cover the otherwise exposed terminal. Seems like it'd be easy to accidentally touch it with a wrench or something. I've never been a big fan of sparks!
One installation tip... I used glue to attach this to the side of the box that holds my OEM fuse box. If you go to the hardware store, ABS cement is perfect for this task. Look specifically for ABS cement and NOT the PVC cement... Different chemicals. The installation is pretty much permanent using this option, but I'd rather leave behind this inexpensive box when I sell this car rather than leaving empty holes from mounting and then removing this box.
There are 2 things that I think could be improved. First is I'd like to see a cap/insulator included for the power stud. As it is you end up with an exposed positive connector so you'll have to figure out something for insulating it on your own. Would have been nice if they included a cap for it.
Second is I'd rather that the circuit connectors were the screw type, they'd be more secure and you wouldn't have to worry about them accidentally being pulled off. The terminals on this are good sized and result in a fairly secure connection, but with a screw down terminal you'll never have to wonder about them coming loose.
