From wide open spaces to underground mining to find the one or one's causing accidents. The job is offered in order to get a loan to buy a ranch. It nearly cost him his life but also led him to the woman he intends to marry..COAL DUST TO STARDUST! Good story

This newest book in the McClintocks series is charming. The hero, Finn is a delightful Irish rogue. Ms. Clemmons knows her Texas history and paints a wonderful picture of the people and places. Although Texas isn't known for coal mining, it was a piece of history I had been unaware of. I enjoyed the relationship of the Clayton family. Finn never gives up on his dream of a ranch and fights to convince Stella he truly loves her. She weaves a good mystery in with the romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

This is a story of the mining hardship and the romance that came out of it.
Finn wanted to be at his new ranch, but had a job to do first. He had to find out who was causing all the trouble at the mines.
Stella was a school teacher who couldn't stop thinking about the new man working with her father in the mines.
The events are full of excitement, wonder and a growing romance.
Another great story by Caroline Clemmons, that kept me turning the pages.

O’Neill’s Texas Bride (The McClintocks Book 2)
This second book in the series was so different and yet, held its own. The mystery within the story had me guessing. Finn was a loveable hero with a dream. Stella was a woman with convictions with an absolute dislike of dating miners. He was working as one, only to find the underlying cause of who was causing accidents, in exchange for the ranch he so desperately wants. She had no idea and tried hard not to fall for him. I liked them both and enjoyed seeing how they figured it all out to find their happiness. I could feel the grime and danger of the mines. All the characters in this story were engaging. It was a great ride! Can’t wait to read the next. Love this writer!

Caroline Clemmons is a master storyteller. The story of Finn and Stella is woven in such a way that the reader is captivated from the beginning to the very end. Caroline cleverly builds suspense until the very end when she reveals who the villain is and their motive. With plenty of mishaps along the way, the reader is on edge wondering who is behind it all. I always look forward with anticipation to the next book by Caroline Clemmons, knowing I won't be disappointed.

This book is a little different from Caroline's other book, in that the main character, Finn O'Neill, has to go underground in a coal mine to find out who is sabotaging a mine. If he is able to do this job he will be given financing for a horse ranch that he wants to purchase. Of course Finn meets a girl and cannot tell her what he is doing, since he has promised to work secretly. It is a good story and I believe you will enjoy it.

This story was better than the first one. It held my interest especially when the author described how the mines operated and how the workers were paid in script rather than cash forcing them to buy what they needed from the company store. The store had higher prices then the stores in surrounding towns. The company rules held true in almost all the coal mines across the country.

O'Neill's Texas Bride is the second book in The McClintock Series. I've found it's a very enjoyable story, well-written and with characters that are engaging ' even the villains.
Welcome to the world of Farland Coal Mine and the daily life of the miners and their families and follow Finn O'Neill's undercover operation to discover what's ' or rather who's ' behind a series of disasters that are anything but coincidences. Meet young Stella Clayton, the schoolteacher with who our undercover agent will fall in love with.
However this is not a conventional love story. Yes, romance plays an important role in the book, but what I've really appreciated is that a lot is devoted to the mystery surrounding all those so-called accidents and the details of the day-to-day life in the mines. So, meet all the other protagonists ' whether they are the main characters or the secondary ones ' and as Finn pursues his investigation, try to figure out who is the culprit. Love, mystery, plot twists... What more could you want?
I believe Caroline Clemmons has put a lot of research in that book and the end result is absolutely great. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
