I noticed a tendency on a couple reviews on this product to downgrade the performance of the connectors based on the tightness and difficulty in separating the connectors. This is a feature of XT60 connectors, they were built to take force to remove. I've used many different brands from many different suppliers, both cheap, expensive, and in between. They all in their own style take a good deal of force to separate. If you are looking for a product which takes little effort to come apart, you are looking at the wrong product, and I would recommend something of the dean's type, or even the dean's micro pin connector. I have had good experience with those.

These came quickly with no issues with shipping, and like any other cheap connectors I have purchased, were not the most precise or high tolerance parts. However they had no problems mating with the other xt60 connectors I have on all of my RC batteries, nor mating with each other as I tried it out on all of them in a pile. I have experienced with other purchases connectors which could not handle the temps of soldering when done even very efficiently. On one of these I took quite a long time slipping up a few times trying to get the solder worked in like I wanted. The plastic did not melt on any of these which I used, both the ones I did well and quick, and the ones that took longer, so as far as temperature tolerance, they worked great.

Going back to the issue brought up in other reviews where this product was docked stars for the high force required in separating, that is what an XT60 connector is supposed to do. If you are therefore looking for a connector which will come apart with ease and little force, these are not what you are looking for. That does not however, make these an inferior product. There also was a review where the writer stated that they didn't work well with the connectors he had previously bought. Without knowing what he had purchased or on which connector the tolerance issue occurred, it's hard to blame this product. I had no problems as stated, and would suggest and recommend the purchase and use of these for anybody looking for the performance of an xt60.

I bought a bunch of these (20) to keep on hand for various projects. After un-bagging them and test-fitting them together I found them very difficult if not nearly impossible to completely mate together just using fingers - but this isn't necessarily a bad thing... For high-amperage uses it's important that the connectors fit snugly to minimize resistance and heating, which also improves the current flow to the load. If needed, I found that squeezing the 4 prongs on the male pins together using needle-nose pliers just a bit, eased the spring tension and made the connectors easier to insert - so the pins can be adjusted to some degree to match your needs and comfort level. Note that even though they fit very tightly together with the other plugs in the package, I found them to be much easier to insert when I test-fit them with several of my LiPo battery packs, so each fit with other connectors will have to be evaluated/adjusted on a one-by-one basis. You can spread the 4 prongs on the male pins a bit too, in case you need to increase the tightness for loose-fitting connectors. These appear to be well made and handled the heat of soldering with no trouble, so feel free to stock-up!

Nice connectors. Easy to solder if you use flux and tin the ends. Be sure to put shink wrap on the wires before soldering to cover the exposed leads after you're finished soldering on the wires. The plastic doesn't easily melt or deform unlike EC3 connectors.

XT60s have to be the best connectors I've ever used. They are robust and firm and not as easy to melt with the soldering iron as some other connectors I've encountered. With enough heat you can even PCB mount them. I won't be going back to anything less robust than these. I didn't have any trouble with them being too tight. They *are* tight, but I didn't need to use any tools. My only regret is that I didn't discover them earlier.

Soldering is always a sticking point when working with connectors that can handle a lot of current. I did not have trouble soldering these and the plastic held up well with no deformation. My approach was to thoroughly tin the wire, then to tin the connector, then to join the two and add more solder. I used lead-based solder and controlled-temperature soldering station.

The connectors themselves are secure without being impossible to connect or disconnect.

The other features will depend on whether the XT60 is the right design for you.

For anything under 70 amps, I don't think you can beat the XT-60 connectors. They hold really well, are easy to connect and disconnect, and they are easy to solder without burning the connector's housing.

When soldering these, make sure your iron is good and hot, to transfer the heat needed to the connector and wire in roughly 10 - 15 seconds. Holding the heat any longer will cause the connector housing to get "soft" and potentially cause one of the terminals to point crooked.

When soldering these, also connect the other end of the connector, to help dissipate the heat from the connector being soldered.
