First of all I love interracial romances that feature two poc leads because not every person who loves IR is checking for white men. I enjoy bwwm but there is just something about interracial romance centering on couples without the white gaze! This was super good example of that and I read it in one day with no breaks!
The heroine was a black Muslim woman who was divorced with a crappy husband. He actually had a 1st wife and took her as a second wife and so he was trash to begin with considering he didnt incorporate both of them into his life. She felt like the side chick and he didn’t exactly make her feel differently.
But this hero she encounters is somewhat younger than her and traditional in the ways that matter to a Muslim woman. I loooooved that about him. His dad was actually a great addition and gave amazing advice. I’m glad he finally saw his fathers way.
From first glance this can seem like a clean romance but it’s steamy af! The hero is super sexy and doesn’t fail to show his heroine he finds her irresistible especially after they wed. I wish I would’ve seen their wedding as they were from two different cultures but I lived the story so much I excused it. Please Ms. Williams, write more ambw romances featuring South Asian or Arab hero’s. I will definitely champion and read!!!!
Hope to see more books of this genre.
