OPI's 2011 Holiday "Gone Gonzo" is a clear polish with blue microglitter and large silver glitter in it. The affect is more like sequins from far away than a blue polish with diamond-like sparkles in it as it appears in the photos. This is not a blue polish. Basically, you are getting a smelly superglue with two colors and sizes of glitter in one bottle. The smell is nearly overwhelming. It smells like its vapor would explode if you lit a match anywhere near it.

The polish goes on nearly clear if thin layers are used. I found that repeated strokes on the same "coat" of polish to make a thicker coat added more glitter to the nail and meant less coats, but three coats were a minimum to cover the nail. The ends of my nails are nearly clear because the glitter does not stick well to the ends and sides of nails. The ends of my nails had to be filed AFTER I polished them in order to remove the razor-sharp edges that the larger glitter creates when it hangs off the end of the nail. I drew blood with my nails they were so sharp and ragged at the ends. Remember to let the polish dry completely and use a fine-grit file or emery board to prevent tearing of the glitter or nail.

Like "Crown Me Already" in the Miss Universe collection, this polish is extremely difficult to remove. I mentioned the smell...this really is like superglue! I used pure acetone and it takes 10-15 MINUTES to remove this polish. "Crown Me Already" took almost 30 minutes to remove.

Even though this stinks, is impossible to remove (you will find glitter in your cuticles for at least two polish changes to come) and is time-consuming to apply, I do like it. I expected the blue to be a bit deeper, but with the number of large silver sparkles in it it considerably lightens the overall "color" of the polish.

I will admit I had to "glop" in on to get the color I wanted but WOW! Once you get in on thick it's amazing. I call it my "rock star" nail polish because it sparkles and its girly but lasts forever! I painted my nails a week ago and it's still going strong... and I did dishes and cleaned my apartment yesterday, and still good... I'm just saying!

Color: Warm and Fozzie Verified Purchase
Warm and Fozzie is right. It's a very warm tone, and when the sunlight hits it, all the colors are visible. Base color is a goldish brown, but there are flakes of other colors that give this a lot of dimension.

Color: Warm and Fozzie Verified Purchase
Initially, Warm and Fozzie looks like a pretty metallic copper, but it also has flecks of green and red that reflect and amplify certain light colors like crazy. It's OPI so of course the formula is perfectly smooth and applies like a dream. As with most metallics, however, it rubbed off my nail tips by day two. But other than that, it's good stuff.

I like this color, but am docking it a star just because it's not clear from the photo that this is fine blue glitter in a clear suspension polish, with bigger hexagonal silver glitter accenting the blue.
I really do enjoy it as a topcoat (Three layers for a noticeable blue glitter over the whole nail, big pieces are tricky to get to stay fanned out) over either a pale blue (What's with the Catitude) or a silver for an icy effect, or grays to tone it down to a subtler effect.
Removal is a bit of a challenge, my best tactic with the glitters is to forsake the cotton balls and just use Q-tips to control how much remover hits the skin around the nail. It takes longer, but it's more portable and you can watch TV rather than hanging over the sink and watching your skin go chemical pruny :-)

Growing up I would tell people I was gonna get big and marry Gonzo lol so I bought this for humorous reasons.. when it came in.. I decided to try it right away.. it is my favorite color to stripe with OPI's alpine snow... I received tons of compliments constantly.. I admired my own nails to the point my husband laughed at me! Now, it is hard to get off.. I had to really rub.. but it's well worth it! I just finished painting my 2 year old daughters nail earlier.. she loves it.. she calls it the sparkles one.. I'd never want to be without my Gone Gonzo!

I am obsessed with glitter polishes right now and this is one of my favorites. The color is just gorgeous and looks awesome on fingers and toes. I put 2 coats on my fingers and couldn't stop staring at them. Make sure to "dab" the polish on to get even glitter application...if you just brush it, it tends to only clump it in small areas.

I just gave myself a pedi last night with "Gone Gonzo" and it was the first time I used the product. I agree with the first reviewer, I was really surprised at first at how thin the polish was. However, if I put more polish on the brush than I normally would, it worked fine. The polish is thick, so it didn't roll off the nail. The color is close to the blue as it appears in the photo but the photo doesn't do the glitter justice - it really brightens up the color. The glitter is in two sizes, blue and larger gold or silver pieces (depending on the light). I would recommend making sure your nails are completely dry before doing anything else. I don't see this a.m. that I will need a second coat. It does dry a little rough, but it is glitter after all. I plan to finish with a clear top coat to smooth the finish. I obviously haven't attempted to take it off yet, but as the polish is on my toes, I'm looking for a longer lasting coat anyway. Fun color, will likely look to purchase the same Muppet OPI glitter polishes in the other colors ("Divine Swine" and "Getty Piggy With It" at least).
