What happens is the hammer needs room to slide and ram again the stop. It is more difficult when the unit is inside the fender area and suspension components are are interfering with movement of the sliding hammer. The puller has to be aligned as much as possible in parallel with the the CV axle. This gives you a straight pull rather than an offset.
Anyway, the CV joint puller is a quality tool. It should last many years. I would buy this again. I have no connection with any company. This is my opinion of this tool. Good luck.
This is the wright tool for the wright job, and it work easily.
I love it.

Puller worked great, but the fork doesn't fit my 2001 Volvo V70XC. The fork supplied was too thick, but I was able to build my own.Published 7 months ago by agaimt
