Our 18-ounce Shaker is made with double-wall stainless steel construction to prevent sweating and keep icy drinks from making your hands cold during use. Includes a jigger cap with 1-oz, 3/4-oz and 1/2-oz measurement markings a on its inner surface.
Brushed stainless steel inside and out gives this cocktail shaker a sleek, modern look. Double-walled construction means less condensation, keeping hands from slipping while shaking up favorite drinks. A soft-grip outer cover on the jigger (which doubles as a lid) allows it to be held securely while adding liquid to any of three measurement markings: 1-1/2, 1, and 3/4 ounces. A built-in strainer prevents unwanted ice from falling into glasses. The shaker measures 9 by 3-1/2 inches and complements other stainless-steel accessories in OXOs barware collection. OXO backs all its products with a satisfaction warranty, and will replace or refund any returned item. --Ann Bieri

Additionally, the pieces of the shaker don't have a tight fit. Turning the shaker upside down (even empty) results in the whole thing immediately falling apart into three different pieces. The top cap also just loosely sits on the shaker; it doesn't screw on. No doubt this has something to do with the leaking problems.
Oxo normally makes great products, but this shaker is absolute garbage. Save your money and buy something else.
I'm not sure the source of negative reviews, but certainly the OXO Cocktail Shaker that I purchased is of unmistakable quality, and I would not hesitate recommending it.
This shaker has so much potential, it simply is unusable because it leaks. I tried exchanged this 3 times (ie. I tested 4 different units) of this same shaker, and every single one leaked. This is massively disappointing, because I know for a fact that units that do not leak exist (my friend has this exact product, and his doesn't leak.) Still, after testing 4 different ones, I gave up.
> Stainless Steel
> Brushed Steel looks great
> Nice pouring mouth that should be easy to clean
> Double wall, vacuum insulted should get drinks colder and keep them colder, longer without diluting as much as normal shakers
> The plastic container that OXO packages this in is very low quality, brittle and flimsy. Every single one of the boxes either was a bit broken when I received it, or broke a bit while I was removing the shaker. Not really a con, just some extra info.
If I were reading this review, I'd be skeptical and wonder if this was simply another case of user error. Allow me to share my testing methodology to alleviate that fear for you.
I can not think of any instance in which shakers are meant to shake anything but iced (or at least cold) drinks. Therefore, all of my testing was done first with cold water and then cold water with ice in it.
1) Put in water / water & ice, being very sure not to go past the fill line (most tests I intentionally didn't get anywhere near the fill line, just to be doubly sure it wasn't user error.)
2) Make sure there's no water anywhere on the unit besides the inside cavity (I wanted to be sure that any leaks were actual leaks, not just water I'd splashed prior to sealing to unit.)
3) Put on lid and put significant pressure on it to seal (after the first few tests showed leaking, I actually smacked it a couple times in latter tests to insure a seal as best as possible.)
4) Begin shaking while maintaining as much pressure as possible on the unit to maintain the seal. I'm a relatively strong guy in my late 20s, so we're not talking about someone who can't apply proper pressure to keep the unit sealed. Additionally, although shaking doesn't sound that difficult, I made sure to watch multiple instructional videos by professional bartenders on how to properly use a cobbler shaker in order to make sure I was doing everything (including the shake) properly.
Every single time without fail, I had leaking. It wasn't always from the same place either. A few of the shakers leaked a bit less than the others, but when you're talking about potentially sticky drinks, any leaking at all is entirely unacceptable. I contacted OXO to see if they had any issues with people reporting leaking from this unit in the past, and they said no - I'm not sure whether they don't have a good system of logging complaints about products, if they were lying, if people who have problems just deal with a bit of leaking, if they don't call in with complaints, or what. They also offered to replace it with a different, similar unit, but I do not like the look or the additional complication of that unit (it is the one with the flatter lid an the push-button seal - it also has the potential to clog and the push button area is very difficult to clean properly.)
***I should note that Amazon's customer service was flawless. They even expedited shipping (next day) when I started having issues. It was wonderful doing business with this company, and I do not blame them for any of the issues I had with the product!***
I have ordered three of these so far and they all leak due to different problems:
The first leaked because the middle section did not seal to the base.
The second shaker leaked from the top because the cap did not seal properly.
The last one actually had a tiny pin sized hole at the top of the vacuum base, which allowed liquid to enter inside the walls of the container.

The lid gets nice and frosty, and the body is insulated so your hands don't get cold.
If you want a product that will throw liquid all over you kitchen, then this is the product for you.
However if you want to make a cocktail and not throw it all over you kitchen – look elsewhere.
Tried couple of other varieties, didn't like either and finally got back to this one.
It is durable, it's double walled, so your hands don't freeze while shaking, seals well and it is easy to pour drip-free.
A+ OXO still got it!
