Product Description

The most important step of making any salad? Washing the greens. Which is where the OXO Steel Salad Spinner comes in. It includes a basket that can be used as a colander and a stainless steel bowl (complete with a non-slip base), which doubles as a serving vessel. To use, just rinse your leaves and drop the basket into place. Put the lid on and use the non-slip pump to get things spinning. Give it a few pumps and then hit the brake to stop the motion. The lid comes apart for thorough cleaning and the pump locks into place for storage. Dishwasher safe.

I ordered this salad spinner to replace A plastic oxo salad spinner that I bought about 12 years ago. The old salad spinner still worked, but the spinning mechanism just wasn’t spinning fast enough to get my lettuce as dry as I like. The only real difference between the new salad spinner and the old one is the metal work bowl, which I really like. The new metalwork bowl feels sturdy without being too heavy. An improvement over the old spinner is the ease in which the spinner lid separates into the two basic components, for easy cleaning (see my photo). The old lid was very tricky to separate and clean, but the new lid could not be easier. It just snaps on and off.The performance of the new salad spinner is excellent. With very little effort the salad spinner spins like a top, throwing off the water of my salad greens, making salad preparation really easy.Cleaning the salad spinner is extremely easy as well. Although I do recommend hand drying the metal bowl immediately after washing so that water spots don’t develop on the bowl. If you don’t mind water spots, then let it air dry and that makes cleanup that much easier. Overall, this is an excellent product that I highly recommend.

Excellent easy most sturdy & fastest to use salad spinner that I have ever owned. Yes it's pricey, but it was well worth the money after I used this thing. You just stuff the green leaf lettuces, greens or fresh herbs inside the plastic bpa free strainer bowl & then place the plastic bpa strainer bowl inside of the stainless steel strainer bowl. What I like about this Salad Spinner is that it is built well, solid & it has the safe silicone grip on the bottom of it to make it grip the counter, so while it's spinning it does not slide on the counter, but it does rock. It is so easy to press button to unlock & to pop the button up to press it to spin the salad goodies. It does not have one of those middle things in the middle of this salad spinner like all other annoying salad spinner, so you have all of the entire space inside of the bowl for spinning your green leaf healthy goodness. It's silent while spinning veggies, it does rock a little from side to side a little when you hit the button a bunch of times, but well expected in my eyes. Everything that I have purchase from this company OXO has been excellent quality & I also own other products from them & they are also well made & work excellent just like this excellent salad spinner that I will purchase again when it comes to the end of it's life which I reckon will be in a long time from now considering the well built construction of this awesome looking & working salad spinner. It is an extreme delight to use unlike all of the other salad spinners that I have owned before this excellent product. It is easy to wash & nothing sticks to the surfaces either the plastic basket or the stainless steel bowl. it's a nice solid product; the base bowl is not going to crack on you.
rubber base was thoughful to keep from slipping during use.
I owned a thrift-store all-plastic Oxo about this size and really liked it ; the inner basket on this unit is FAR better than the previous version; its much more stable. old one just got old & plastic basket & base developed cracks with years of use.
Improvement suggestions:
1) the latch on top that locks the plunger is better on the old models; it doesn't catch & stay easily.
2) the clear plastic insert with the pivot that the basket rides on: could have easily been put as part of the steel by a punch-press, and then the rubber base fill that gap when sealing the bottom. Right now that clear plastic insert: is rather brittle/thin & looks like a toss-up between getting broken or lost .
I like Oxo & have a few of their products & will consider them as top-name for home cooks.
Last was: no instructions on how to disassemble & reassemble the top plunger unit when leaf fragments get caught in there. right now, it's just a matter of long-rinsing and tilt-swish to try to get them out vs risk forcing the pieces apart & back together; < that's not a good long-term solution for me..
-hope the designers may follow the feedback notes, though this one will last me a long time from what I can tell.

I purchased this after seeing a demonstration of it on a YouTube video. It is an excellent spinner, extremely easy to use and clean. I use it every day. It is made of stainless steel and is very sturdy. It does not move when you use it because of the non-slip rubber bottom. It can be dissembled easily for cleaning. This is an excelent quality spinner. It might cost a little bit more than most of the other ones made of plastic, but it is well worth its price. Anyone who is looking for an excellent quality salad spinner this in my opinion is the best one made.

This is very sturdy. It feels like a LOT of money, but worth it if you are constantly washing greens like me. I love that you can press the lever and walk away. This is REALLY important for someone with arthritis or other motor issues (you could even press with elbow or foot), but also nice for any busy kitchen. If you balance it correctly, it will spin for a good long time on its own and NOT jump off the counter. I was also able to use it as a spin cycle... I was boiling cheese cloth on the stove to sterilize, and used the salad spinner to remove much of the boiling water before transferring to oven for drying. It worked great, and did not melt. If you have the budget, I recommend this product.

 Ich habe diese Salatschleuder schon länger umkreist, bei diesem Angebot nun musste ich einfach zuschlagen, denn unsere alte Salatschleuder hat ihren Dienst einfach getan. Ich gebe zu, ich besitze bereits einige Küchenutensilien dieses Herstellers und bisher wurde ich noch nie enttäuscht, also sehen Sie es mir bitte nach, wenn ich mal wieder ins schwärmen gerate. Bei dieser Schleuder gefällt mir besonders, dass die Schüssel aus Edelstahl ist und ich kann sie daher auch gleich dazu nutzen, den fertigen Salat darin zu präsentieren bzw auf den Tisch zu stellen. Neugierig wie ich bin, musste ich sie natürlich gleich auspacken und alles anschauen, nachdem sie geliefert wurde. Übrigens war auch dies mal wieder eine Eintages-Lieferung, das fasziniert mich noch immer und ich mag, das Amazon auf eine Umverpackung verzichtet hat, die Schüssel kam auch so makellos bei uns an, sehr gut Amazon! Zunächst war ich etwas enttäuscht, denn ich fand einfach keinen Hinweis darauf, wie ich es bewerkstelligen sollte, dass der Kopf der Pumpe hervortritt. Also für alle die ähnlich technikbegabt sind wie ich, den schwarzen Schieber erst von dem gelben Transportschutz befreien und dann dieses schwarze Kunststoffteil nach aussen an den Rand der Schüssel schieben - siehe Video, aber dabei möglichst die Hand mit ein wenig Druck auf dem Kopf der Pumpe platzieren, damit dieser nicht wie bei mir im Video mit Schmackes nach oben knallt. Das Arbeiten mit der Oxxo-Salatschleuder empfinde ich als sehr komfortabel, ich wollte unbedingt eine Lösung ohne eine Schnur haben, das ist hier der Fall und das Drücken auf den Pumpenkopf fällt mir sehr leicht, damit wird der Salat mit ziemlich hohem Tempo geschleudert, der Salat war dann in für uns perfektem Zustand, knackig und trocken. Um die Pumpe zu bedienen, muss ich keine besonderen Anforderungen erfüllen können, das ist selbst für Menschen wie mich mit starker Arthrose in den Gelenken mühelos zu erledigen. Nach 4maligem Pumpen dreht sich bei meiner Schleuder der Korb noch ganz knapp 60 Sekunden schnell weiter, heisst für mich, der Korb bewegt sich ziemlich leicht. Die Oxxo-Salatschleuder besteht insgesamt aus 5 Teilen - siehe Foto. Auch die durchsichtige Platte mit der Spitze, auf der der Korb platziert wird, lässt sich leicht entnehmen, denn der Rand ist gewölbt und Oxxo hat einen Ausschnitt zum Entnehmen angebracht. Der aus 2 Teilen bestehende Deckel, kann ebenfalls leicht getrennt werden, beim Schleudern wird nur der untere Schutz der Pumpe "verschmutzt", der obere Teil mit der Pumpe ist vollständig geschützt durch den unteren, da dieser mit dem Korb selbst abschliesst. Durch die hochwertige Verarbeitung ist die Reinigung absolut mühelos. Zumal konstruktionsbedingt die Schüssel, das transparente Einlegeteil mit der Spitze und der untere Teil des Deckels nur beschmutzt bzw zT sogar nur nass werden. Vor allem auch der Korb hat mich positiv beeindruckt, er wirkt überaus robust und nirgends ist ein scharfer Grat oder eine Spitze oä zu finden, den Vorgängerkorb kann ich im Vergleich zu diesem nur als Schrott bezeichnen. Die Edelstahl-Schüssel wiederum ist bei meinem Exemplar nicht ganz so stabil wie sie ausschaut, sie ist leicht elastisch, durchaus möglich, dass dies beabsichtigt ist, oder aus Gewichtsgründen so gemacht wird, damit die Schüssel nicht zu schwer wird. Der Rand der Schüssel ist nach innen gebördelt, also angenehm dick und nicht scharfkantig. Als sehr positiv fiel mir bei auf, dass der Boden komplett mit Silikon oder ähnlichem überzogen ist, diese Schüssel wird also nichts zerkratzen beim Platzieren, zudem macht es die Schüssel schön rutschfest. Zum Verstauen der Schleuder kann der bereits oben beschriebene Pumpenkopf erneut versenkt werden und nimmt dann weniger Platz in Anspruch - siehe Foto 2 und 3. Es gibt diese Salatschleuder in verschiedenen Versionen, für mich ist diese die beste Wahl, rein optisch hätte ich gerne die aus Glas gekauft, aber da ich so ein Schussel bin, hätte sie mich wohl nicht lange überlebt. Ich bin sehr glücklich mit meinem Kauf, ich kann diese Salatschleuder bisher uneingeschränkt empfehlen, ich vergebe die vollen 5 Sterne. Sollte diese Rezension nützlich gewesen sein, wäre es lieb wenn Sie mich dies durch einen kostenlosen Nützlich-Klick wissen liessen, auch als kleiner Ansporn diese zeitaufwändigen Rezi's weiter zu verfassen.
