Finally, a Blender that cares about your pots and pans
We’ve all been there, using an immersion blender to whip up cream of tomato soup (or smoothies, mayo, gravy...) only to find that the blender scratches cookware, dings bowls and wreaks havoc in the kitchen. We designed the OXO On Illuminating Digital Immersion Blender for Non-Stick Cookware to address immersion blender pet peeves; starting with the nylon head and silicone-coated, durable stainless steel shaft, which work together to protect your cookware. The Blender has a soft-glow LED headlight that illuminates the pot as you blend, allowing you to monitor soup and sauce consistency — especially useful when blending in a tall pot or without direct lighting above you. With a powerful DC motor, a soft-touch power button, an easy-to-use digital dial, and other thoughtful features, the OXO On Illuminating Digital Immersion Blender for Non-Stick Cookware will make light work of your cooking adventures from beginning to end.

Then this morning, 2 weeks after my return option expired with Amazon, I saw the collar where the mixer attaches to the handle was broken. I have not dropped or abused this part in any way. I rechecked the reviews and saw that one customer received it with this part broken directly from the box. Twice. I am now left with the choice of spending time trying to get a replacement from the company of a mixer that I don't really want or throwing it away and searching for a better option. I do wish Amazon stood behind their products longer. If they did so they would be less likely to carry junk and we could all order with more confidence.
If you're on the fence with owning one, I can't believe I didn't before!
The 3 cup plastic beaker is great for mixing a small amount such as a breakfast smoothie. I have never had a desire to make or even taste a smoothie before I rec'd my blender. Actually made my first one just to "play" with the blender. But was surprised at how good and filling they are. Start with about a cup of milk. Add cut up banana, a little peanut butter, maybe some dry oatmeal, and any fruit you want. Delicious and so much fun to make!
Why did I wait so long to buy this OXO blender?
