The OXO Good Grips fish spatula works great for flipping over fillets of fish, burgers, pancakes, eggs...the tip of the spatula is thin enough to get under those items easily and wide enough to hold the item effectively. The blade doesn't scratch my pans, doesn't get scratched by my cast iron pans, and is long enough so that I don't need to worry about getting burned when flipping items. The handle is plastic and can get melted/soften if left in your pan, but because I don't leave my utensils in the pan, I didn't have any issues with that. If you do leave utensils in your pans, this can stand being left on the edge for a short while, but I wouldn't recommend leaving it for extended periods of time.
Overall, this is one of those kitchen items that I didn't know I needed until I actually started using it. I ended up tossing my older silicone OXO spatula which was starting to peel at the blade end, and haven't looked back.
But nope, I did not. I didn't rush out and buy every item I lacked, but I did get two - a microplane zester and this fish turner. They even had the same stock pic of this OXO model in their article, though the brand wasn't named.
That was eight months ago and I still haven't used the zester. But this fish turner has become my favorite all-around spatula. It really works well and allows fine control. I hand wash it after a short soak and let it air dry (no toweling off) and there have been no problems with rust, even at the welds.
There are more expensive turners out there but the quality of this one is all anybody needs. Recommended.
Now they just need to make a left-handed version...
