The OXO Good Grips Food Mill is the perfect tool for preparing fresh purees, sauces, soups and more. It has a stainless steel inner bowl that is ideal for hot foods and will not stain, and includes 3 stainless steel grinding discs for fine, medium and coarse textures. Use the fine disc for homemade jellies, creamy sauces and baby food, the medium disc for applesauce and vegetable soups, and the coarse disc for mashed potatoes and chunkier sauces. The Food Mill has a unique release button that makes it easy to exchange discs and disassemble for storage. Three non-slip legs hold the Food Mill securely over bowls and pots up to 11 inches in diameter, keeping it out of your food. The legs also fold for easy storage. The soft, non-slip handle and knob ensure comfort when gripping the Food Mill and turning the blade. All parts are dishwasher-safe.

The spinning blade is angled to allow potatoes or whatever you are ricing to be pushed into the ricing blades. However, you have to continually push more potato into the spinning blade to keep it ricing. This could be made better if it was not a single spinning blade but more of a flighted auger like a screw to automatically bring in more potato for ricing.
Also. This thing is very top heavy and is not stable while spinning with one hand and trying to hold with second hand. Oh and you need a third hand to keep feeding potato into the ricer. This seems like a beta version. C’mon Oxo you can engineer a better ricer than this.
What a pleasure to use! Works as it should - removes tomato skins and seeds as if it was made only for that - What a time saver! Removed some of the tomato puree from the freezer made pre-Oxo's Food Mill. On average, it removed 1/2 cup or more of seeds and skins! Probably shouldn't use the word 'awesome' describing a Food Mill but if I did, an appropriate word for this device. We've only used it so far for tomato puree but looking forward to fruit season for jellies and more. (Like mashed potatoes.)
Easy to clean, comes with three discs with small, medium and larger holes - for tomato puree we started with small and find medium works very well. Legs fold out to use and in for storage.
Five stars means (using Amazon's language criteria) that one 'loves' it - hard to say "We love our Oxo Mill" but it's close!

This new piece of kitchen equipment has changed my life!
I live in the south of Spain and buy my vegetables at the market at a terrific price.
I make my own delicious soups; throwing tomatoes, sweet yellow peppers, hot chilli peppers, celery, leeks and garlic into a pan and boiling for approximately one hour.
I used to go through a painful procedure of straining by hand with a wooden spoon and then needed to take pain killers and lie down (as I suffer from problems with my spine).
My new strainer arrived today; I boiled up the ingredients and then used my new Oxo Good Grips Food Mill. What joy! Easy peasy! Three litres of soup done in a trice. Very easy to clean.
Will be trying out with plums, apricots etc. etc....
Cannot understand how anyone could review this gadget negatively; they must have assembled it wrongly.
How have I managed up until now?
Now he has his "ricer" (?) which turned out to be a food mill, he is VERY HAPPY with his mash!
We have several fruit trees/bushes in the garden and I am looking forward to fruit puree in the summer.
Very Satisfied with the purchase. (Both of us).
