I have to say, I was a little skeptical about the OXO Good Grips Large Salad Spinner at first. But let me tell you, this thing has completely changed my salad game. Not only does it spin my greens to perfection, but the mesmerizing motion of the spinning actually hypnotizes me - I could watch it for hours (okay, maybe not hours, but you get the point). The non-slip base is a godsend, and the easy-to-use pump handle makes for a smooth spin every time. The large capacity is perfect for those dinner party salads, and the clear bowl makes it easy to see when everything is perfectly dry. Overall, the OXO Good Grips Large Salad Spinner has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen gadgets. So if you're on the fence about it, take it from me - just buy it. You won't be disappointed (and you might even find yourself in a trance).

I eat a LOT of salad and had used my old salad spinner (also OXO) several times a week for about 14 years. Long ago it started to develop some star shaped cracks in the bowl and I expected to be replacing it soon, but it lasted for at least 5 years after that with the spinning mechanism still working like a champ. I was so bummed when a few weeks ago it finally started leaking and I caved and ordered this model. I'm SO glad I did, as there have been significant improvements. The lid is now flat, so it stores more easily. There is a silicone ring on the bottom of the bowl to keep it from moving when you're using it. The bowl is very thick and strong and the spinning mechanism is fantastic. A few easy pumps of the button and you're done. Would definitely buy this again but if my last one was any indication, it will be a long time before I have to.

This spinner is better than that "expensive" home-party brand in every way. The spinner basket is much sturdier, the unit spins up more quickly and also more easily, the locking mechanism is simpler to engage and disengage, and the bowl and lid are made of thicker material. The *only* thing the PC one might have going for it is it comes with a small basket as well, but if you do a lot of small batches, I think you'd be better off with this one in the smaller size, instead. A+ in my book!

I think the biggest upside of this product is that it looks super sleek (at least that’s for the black version, the green one looks a bit tacky to me). Every time there are guests at my house and I want to impress them, I’d just pull this out.

In terms of function, yes, it does the job. However, there are two things you need to know:
- You have to push multiple times, until the greens kinda stick to the side of the basket, to wring all the water out.
- And no it’s not gonna be completely dry. There would be some moisture to it no matter how much you spin.

On to the downside of this salad spinner:
- It’s bulky to pull out, assemble, and clean: It’s a big size salad spinner so it’s hard to find a spot for it in the cabinet. And for cleaning, I usually just run it through water but it also takes up a lot of space on the dish rack.
- Sometimes I just want to make a really quick salad and pulling this out and washing them kinda discourages me (so yeah this stuff isn’t gonna motivate u to eat more greens)
- Secondly, water stains: since u only wash these with water, and it’s transparent plastic, there’ll be a lot of water stains which kinda ruin the sleek look. But from afar it looks fine. So if the little things bother you, that's something to consider.
- Lastly, scratches. I never drop it but there happens to be a scratch on the bottom of the bowl. It doesn’t leak water out but it bugs me a bit.

So yes, I would recommend this product if you like to have salad or bulk prep your veggies since it will save a lot of time (and your salad will taste much better). But it’s kind of overpriced which I guess is compensated by the sleek design so if u don’t really care about how it looks, there are probably cheaper options out there.

My 3 year old can use it and likes to press the spin button. The lock feature is nice for storage to store it with the spin button locked down. Even better there is a stop spinning button which i didn't realize it came with, my old one you just let it finish spinning to stop. Highly recommended!

Unlike my old "pull-a-string" spinner, this one spins with very little effort. It's quiet, extremely sturdy, easy to clean, and big enough to handle 3 romaine hearts plus greens. I am very happy with my OXO salad spinner and recommend it unconditionally!!! Hint: add 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice to the rinse water before draining as it seals the cut ends and extends the life of the salad.

This works just great! Very powerful spin which leaves your salad dry and crispy. Sticks to the worktop too - which is a good plus. (So much better than bunching up lettuce into a teatowel, going out into the garden and spinning your arm around like mad - which I've been doing for years! Although I do miss the exercise ...)

Salad keeps fresh in it for at least two days as well, which is handy as I always make too much, and used to waste loads. Now we have salad two days running, or use it the next day in sandwiches, etc. (I think it would last longer than two days, actually, but haven't tried.) So it's a money-saver too!

Only downside for me was where to store it, as it's quite big, and my cupboards are full. I solved this by finding space for just the lid in a cupboard, and storing the bowl itself in the 'fridge. Yes, you do have room! Just put all your unprepared salad stuff inside the bowl. (Give it a quick swill round before using, of course.) Job done!

I got this recently and am very happy with it. I used to have a system of of washing salads in a colander and placing that over a large 'pyrex' dish to catch the drips. the only trouble was that it was time consuming and annoying if I wanted the colander for other purposes whilst it took time in allowing the water to drip through. Now I can spin salads etc dryer in seconds. This spinner is very well made, as are all products made by 'OXO' that I have bought in the past. I cannot yet state if it will be prone to staining by items such as fruit juices, or the juice of sliced beetroot, but the spinner is made of various types of plastic and so may well do. I will update my review if this becomes fact.
