A little bit overpriced and bulky

I think the biggest upside of this product is that it looks super sleek (at least that’s for the black version, the green one looks a bit tacky to me). Every time there are guests at my house and I want to impress them, I’d just pull this out.

In terms of function, yes, it does the job. However, there are two things you need to know:
- You have to push multiple times, until the greens kinda stick to the side of the basket, to wring all the water out.
- And no it’s not gonna be completely dry. There would be some moisture to it no matter how much you spin.

On to the downside of this salad spinner:
- It’s bulky to pull out, assemble, and clean: It’s a big size salad spinner so it’s hard to find a spot for it in the cabinet. And for cleaning, I usually just run it through water but it also takes up a lot of space on the dish rack.
- Sometimes I just want to make a really quick salad and pulling this out and washing them kinda discourages me (so yeah this stuff isn’t gonna motivate u to eat more greens)
- Secondly, water stains: since u only wash these with water, and it’s transparent plastic, there’ll be a lot of water stains which kinda ruin the sleek look. But from afar it looks fine. So if the little things bother you, that's something to consider.
- Lastly, scratches. I never drop it but there happens to be a scratch on the bottom of the bowl. It doesn’t leak water out but it bugs me a bit.

So yes, I would recommend this product if you like to have salad or bulk prep your veggies since it will save a lot of time (and your salad will taste much better). But it’s kind of overpriced which I guess is compensated by the sleek design so if u don’t really care about how it looks, there are probably cheaper options out there.

This salad spinner was a good purchase. It's large, stable and easy to use.
I bought this to rinse our basil before I dried it. This was perfect. It's very easy to push the handle and spin the water out. It doesn't spin dry, but I don't know of anything that would do that.
It says it's dishwasher safe on the top rack. The only problem is that it's too tall to fit. But it's no big deal to hand wash it. I'm very pleased with this salad spinner and would recommend to anyone looking for something like this.

I really like the Oxo brand in general. I really appreciate the large size because I often eat salad meals, especially in the summer. I wish the mechanism didn't go so far down into the bowl, but I don't think there is much way around it, design-wise. I tend to use a lot of micro-greens and they easily get caught in the basket holes; again one product designed to fit most applications is best. I'm going to get a slightly softer dish or bottle brush and I know that will do the trick to get the basket cleaned much more easily. Actually, my real problem is I don't have a dishwasher :( that I can toss it in to the upper rack to wash it for me!

I love this little salad spinner! It's as cute as it is useful, and it's changing the way I prepare salads.

The spinner is so easy to use. All I had to do was put the washed greens into the little colander, snap on the lid and press lightly on the black button a few times. Let's face it, I'm tired of kitchen things breaking. Not that we go through salad spinners that often, but more than I feel is necessary: two in ten years. Vorab: Ich habe die Edelstahl-Salatschleuder gekauft. Diese ist bei mit seit einem Dreiviertaljahr im Einsatz und wurde in der Zeit ca. 100 mal benutzt.

Vorher habe ich den Salat nur durch Schütteln getrocknet, wenn man das überhaupt als Trocknen bezeichnen kann. Kleiner Test mit bereits geschütteltem Salat in der OXO-Schleuder: Holt noch mal 30 ml Wasser zusätzlich raus. Funktioniert also wirklich super und das Drücken macht einfach Spaß. Wenn man den richtigen Rhythmus findet, kriegt man auch ordentlich Tempo rein. (Im Video sieht es nur etwas seltsam aus, weil ich mich darauf konzentrieren musste, das Smartphone nicht fallen zu lassen.)

Der eigentliche Clou ist aber – wie von vielen anderen schon beschreiben – die Verwendung als Salatschüssel: Salat im Sieb waschen, in die Schüssel einsetzen und schleudern, Sieb herausnehmen, Schüssel ausleeren, dann das Dressing in der Schüssel zubereiten und den getrockneten Salat hinzugeben. Sieht toll aus in der großen Edelstahl-Schüssel. Meine alte Salatschüssel schaut mich jetzt immer ganz traurig an, wenn ich ihr Schrankfach aufmache.

An sich macht die Schleuder einen robusten Eindruck, nur der Deckel und der Deckel-Einsatz sind recht lose zusammengesteckt (siehe Bild 3). Die werden durch kleine Plastiknasen aneinander gehalten – vermutlich, um die Reinigung dieser beiden Einzelteile zu erleichtern. Mit ist es beim Aufräumen mehrfach passiert, dass der Einsatz unerwartet herausgefallen ist, weil die Nasen ihn nicht mehr hielten. Vorsichtig sein! Das Problem wird sich vermutlich nur noch verstärken, je älter das Plastik wird. Ich halte es allerdings für möglich, dass die Schleuder selbst dann noch funktioniert, wenn die Teile gar nicht mehr von selbst halten, weil die Einlage in der Schüssel keinen Platz zum wegrutschen hat. Die Zukunft wird es zeigen.

Mein persönliches Highlight ist jedoch der Gummifuß: Die Schüssel steht so rutschfest auf dem Tisch wie ein Kran auf einem ordentlich verdichteten Kranplatz. Da bewegt sich absolut nichts. Kein Vergleich zu Glasschüsseln oder der "Blanda Blank" Edelstahlschüssel von IKEA.

Der Brems-Knopf ist in Ordnung. Wenn man ihn fester drückt, hält die Schüssel auch schneller an.

Bitte werten Sie meine Rezension nicht wegen des Musters der Arbeitsplatte ab, meine Ex hat es ausgesucht.

I created a video of the unboxing and I run it quickly (without salad), just to show up mechanism and working principle. The bowl is made of thick glass, the rest is plastic.
In short:
• Stylish: Having the bowl in thick glass, when compared to the cheap salad spinners (plastic made), this looks way nicer. The mechanism is well-engineered and clean; you push and it spins. No antiaesthetic wheel mechanism.
• Sturdy: The bowl is in thick glass, and if you do not drop it, it lasts forever. Generally, cheap plastic bowls tend to crack over time.
• Compact: The mechanism can be packed and locked, in order to reduce the overall volume. In this way, it keeps less storage space.
• Handy: You can spin the salad first, you can quickly throw out the water from the bowl, dry it and you can use the very same bowl to serve the salad. Hence you don't have two bowls to wash in the end.

Très jolie essoreuse avec un bol magnifique en inox . Malheureusement, le couvercle a cassé au bout de 6 mois. Impossible à réparer. Very robust and durable, high quality workmanship, and astonishingly effective - works like a dream. The brake and spinning mechanism is excellent. Even better, the salad can be stored inside the basket in the spinner with the top pushed down and locked and kept in the fridge - this way the salad stays fresh far longer as the air circulates around the basket. After my crazy expensive Tupperware spinnr started making weird grating noises, without visible reason and refusing to dry any leaves, I knew I needed a new spinner. Seeing the reviews on this one, I decided to grab it on special offer with metal bowl and am very glad I did.
The whole thing feels so much sturdier than my old spinner, the metal bowl looks and feels lovely, even with severe arthritis it's super easy to use (which I can't say about those with handles to turn) and dries the salad perfectly.
I saw the comment that the pushdown in the middle limits the volume, but I threw a whole bag of spinach into it and had no issues. Nothing squashed at all.

If I would want to complain on a very high level here, I would love an additional lid, to store it in the fridge with the salad, which makes it last a lot longer. And maybe make the basket openings on the sides a tiny bit bigger, to allow for easier cleaning and drying. But that's really minor issues and I think it'll serve me well for a (hopefully) long time.
