The OXO Good Grips Wooden Reamer efficiently juices lemons, limes and other citrus fruits. The pointed tip and sharp edges make it easier to begin and continue the juicing process. The Reamer is made of solid beech wood, which does not react with acidic fruits, making the product more durable. We do not recommend washing your wooden tools in the dishwasher.

The handle is thick so if you are wanting a thinner handle you might not like the handle on this particular turner - it is thick! I like the way it feels in my hand because I can get a good grip on this handle.
I got this for my wok. I've got one angled turner but for some things I found I need a flat tuner over the angle - all depends on what you are doing. I might have to get a spoon now from OXO.
But I bought this reamer based on the reviews and I have to say, it's earned its place in our cluttered kitchen. It's true that it's not really that difficult to just cut a lemon in half and squeeze out the juice with your bare hand. But boy, this reamer makes it even easier! Just seconds is all you need. Plus, easy to clean (because let's face it, when you're as lazy as I am, sometimes you don't want to use a gadget that takes more time cleaning than it saves you using--I'm thinking of you, garlic crusher!). I just rinse it under the faucet. Plus, it's kinda fun. A good way to release a little aggression while making some delicious lemonade.
One thing I noticed though is that the wood is not completely smooth. If you run your finger against the reamer part, in the direction of base to tip, you can feel bits of the wood splinters. That concerned me a bit at first but it has not caused any problem that I could notice. I think it could potentially be an issue if you scrubbed too hard on this.
I would've given it a 5-star review but the wood feels slightly rough and dry after a few uses. I just gave mine a rub with some mineral oil.
That said, as with all wooden implements, bowls, and cutting boards for the kitchen you should treat the wood regularly (I guess this is how I got so much use out of this even though I ran it through the dishwasher almost daily).
The best and most reasonable product to do this with is food grade mineral oil which you can find in a large pharmacy (I think I got mine in the pharmacy at Target after asking the pharmacist where to find it). Just wet it, rub it in thoroughly, paper towel off any excess, and set aside to "dry" (let the oil soak into the wood to protect it).
I honestly don't think I did this more than once and this lasted over a year after that. Calphalon, not so much.
