I have found Oxo items to be a mixed bag. Some of their items, like these tongs, seem very well made and thus warrant the price point, but others, such as their top viewing measuring cups not so much.

Anyway, I always wanted a set of good tongs, but I waited at least 2-3 years to buy these. I felt the prices were too high, but they never seemed to go on sale, so I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the 9" size, and not long afterward, I purchased the 12". I love them both. The 9" is good for handling foods that are not very hot. The 12" size are better for taking food out of the air fryer or off of a hot grill for instance. Both have a lot of uses, though.

They are well made and feel as though they will last many years, so I will not complain about the price. Yes, I would recommend these if you do a reasonable amount of food preparation, and by that I mean if you prepare at least one real meal a day. Still wish they were a bit less expensive though!

It survived years after that in my kitchen for any other use you would need a tong for.

Good solid construction and definitely not flimsy like the ones from the big box stores. It’s nice to have tongs with the silicone coating on them that’s 600° so you can toss anything in the skillet without damaging it. They are perfect for in-house use. When you close them the tongs meet perfectly unlike many others we have had in the past. We would definitely buy this length again. However because of the quality construction they probably will outlive us. They were also reasonably priced. Thank you OXO for your quality product. We will be looking at more of your product line.

I've owned other kitchen tongs. These are sturdy and well made. They are hefty. You can tell they are quality when you first pick them up. Reviews of some of the other brands complain of the spring rusting, for example. Not on these. No sign of that even after a couple months of frequent use and washing. The locking mechanism has a positive feel and works well. The silicone tips are firm and thick and won't damage non-stick cookware. Yes, these cost more than some other tongs, but if you want a quality product that is well made and going to last I don't think you will find much better. (BTW, it's worth doing a little research on nylon-tipped vs. silicone-tipped tongs.)

The tongs are great. My whole life I've only used dollar store nylon tongs, so this felt like a splurge, but it was very much worth it. They feel quite sturdy. The only issue might be one of the handle rubber inserts moves a bit making me think it will eventually wear off. Cleaning is fine, mostly the same as any tongs, there's nothing crazy on these that would change that. The silicone dries with water spots in the dishwasher, but that might be the water's fault. I don't see me ever buying a different pair of tongs to replace these if they break.

Brilliant simple design of silicone tongs that works perfectly for me. It is long enough so I don’t get burnt on the air fryer and the ends comfortably grip both chips and chicken portions. I have arthritis in my hands so need to use a well designed tongs and this one is it! I also like the way you just push the top in or out depending on whether you want to store them locked.
I am considering getting the 9” one as well as I can use the shorter tongs doing other cooking tasks.
