Slice through mushrooms, pepperoni, and extra cheese with ease with the OXO Good Grips 4-inch Pizza Wheel. Its sharp stainless steel blade cuts through crunchy crust, and is large enough to accommodate Sicilian and thick-crust pizzas. A die cast zinc thumb guard keeps fingers away from the blade for added safety, and the large, soft handle absorbs pressure.
You can rely on this wheel to make a complete cut through your pizza pie on the first run, thanks to its beveled stainless-steel blade. It works equally well with other pie doughs, and you can use without fear of cutting yourself, thanks to its built-in thumb guard.
The Good Grips line features durable, nonslip, flexible handles on every product. Ergonomically designed to fit the palm comfortably, the pressure-absorbing, processed rubber handle puts less tension on the hands, while still providing an outstanding grip. Made from the same material as dishwasher gaskets, the handles are slip-proof, wet or dry, as well as dishwasher-safe. Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award. --Laurie Notaro

I expect this will last a long time and we cut a LOT of pizzas and quesadillas. We actually bought this as a second pizza cutter so we'd always (...usually) have a clean one, but honestly I always grab this one first. Nothing wring with the other, but I just like this one better. My new fave!
Even though I very clearly read that this is a 4-inch pizza wheel, I really did not expect it to be this... big...
This is one hefty pizza cutter. I like to make pizza with lots of veggie toppings, and it slices right through every time. Whether or not you have to go back and forth seems to be dependent upon how crunchy you like the bottom of the crust. A softer crust slices easily with one pass. A crunchy bottom crust requires a bit more work, but not enough to give this a negative rating.
What I really like about the cutter is the feel in the hand, and the easy cleanup. (Spray the cutter lightly with no-stick spray before using, and cheese, etc. rinses right off.) The bracket that holds the wheel in place is far enough away from the wheel that cheese and bits of topping do not get stuck between the bracket and the wheel. (I had that problem with my previous pizza cutter, and had to literally soak it in water after every use, and push the debris out with a toothpick. What a pain...not to mention the yuck factor in not being able to really get it clean.)
I hand wash and dry the cutter after every use, which I hope will avoid the rust issue that other reviewers mentioned.
I am very pleased with this purchase.
And that's the problem: This thing is not very well made at all. I got it to replace an old pizza cutter that I'd had for years, which was getting dull and rusty and the wheel was no longer completely round. I went with OXO because I'd had good experiences with some of their other products, but this may be the last thing I get from them, ever. The rivet through the wheel became loose within about 6 months, causing the wheel to wobble, and it came apart completely after less than a year, and so far I haven't found a way to get it back together and tight again. Very poor quality product; the much cheaper pizza wheel that it replaced had lasted for at least 10 or 15 years, but I got less than a year out of this supposedly superior and definitely more expensive product. OXO quality appears to have taken a nose dive in recent years.
Avoid this product. Probably just about every other pizza wheel on the market is better.
This undeniably top-quality implement makes the overall dimensions of my prior pizza cutter with a mere 2-inch diameter wheel appear to be quite insubstantial if not puny in size. I really don’t know how I managed to make do with such a tiny tool until now, do you? The large, black, grippy handle of this Oxo cutter with a hole for hanging is far more comfortable and safer than the smooth/slippery metallic handles of other comparable pizza cutters. The finger guard is also a nice touch although I don’t recall ever having my fingers injured in any way when cutting pizza whether or not the device used provided for finger protection.
Naturally, this Oxo pizza wheel can be used to cut/slice many more items in your kitchen that just pizza. Use your imagination and let it run wild: certainly diverse pastries and most especially crusty pies will gladly succumb to the unyielding attentions of this efficiently effective and extremely imposing wheel.
Some reviewers have complained about the centrally located connection of the wheel to the handle rusting over time. I cannot confirm or deny this since I have not yet been using this cutter very long. However, if it were to superficially rust to some degree – aesthetically a pity – I don’t see how this would in any way affect the ability of the large round wheel to do its thing, namely to cut pizza, unless it were to rust through completely and cause the wheel to come loose which is highly unlikely in anything manufactured by Oxo.
Along with Cuisinart, Calphalon, Kitchen Aid and the like, diverse Oxo products are most welcome and frequently used members of my kitchen family and I cannot recommend them any more highly. Perhaps you too should consider taking this truly amazing wheel and cutter for a spin through the pizza of your choosing just to see how things roll?
