Update: Latest dish brush experience. The last time I purchased this brush I tried to just push lightly on the brush to dispense the soap. This last one has lasted longer doing this. In order to not fill up the handle with dish soap all the time, I tried opening the rubber stopper to let air in and then pressing on it to dispense the soap. A little nuisense but it seems to work. The rubber stopper split yet and I don't keep refilling it with soap. The leaks from the rubber stopper others report may be do to it being spit. Try not to use very mush pressure. You need enough soap but also some air pressure in order for it to dispense properly. Good luck.
Unfortunately, while these units now last longer, they button still cracks after a couple of months of use. I'm going to try and find another dish brush.
I have been using this product for roughly four years. As you can read from several of the reviews it works great, but had a design flaw: The rubber button would crack and leak soap. I still bought it over and over again because it was just great and pretty cheap to replace the body. The removable brushes and sponges all seem to last a reasonable time.
The great news is that they have changed the design so that soap is now poured in through the black portion of the handle, which screws on/off. The button is now made with a better rubber and looks like it will last forever. I'm glad I stuck with OXO, they have made me doubly satisfied.
I purchase the first one, it broke in five weeks, then bought a replacement and it broke in three weeks in the exact same location. The new design has issues with rubber button for dispensing the soap. I do not know if its a design flaw or inferior rubber material, but it breaks in the exact same spot. When you look down at the button the lower left side of the button breaks near the edge from your right hand thumb pressing the button and rubs against the corner of sharp plastic. The bristles are not as stiff as pervious too. Very discouraging. Seems they're engineering the quality out of everything these days. They lost me as a customer.
I've tried the Kitchen Aid, but the plastic tip sticks out too much to safely wash the insides of fine glasses or attempting not to scratch non-stick pans. So I ended up purchasing the Casabella Smart Scrub Soap Dispensing Dish Brush and I am so-so happy with it. The whole handle squeezes soap out in a better controlled manor. The bristles are stiff, and the size of the brush is smaller and at a better angle to get into glasses with out fear of breaking them. I give the Casabella Smart Scrub Soap Dispensing Dish Brush 5 Stars.
