My only slight nags are that:
(a) Because water expands when it freezes, you have to empty the entire tray of cubes before you can use the seal function again. The new ice forms a bulge in the silicon lid which prevents you from topping off a partially empty tray and swiping off the excess into the sink. My solution, get a second tray (I'll get the blue one next with cube shapes) so that I don't have to worry about being temporarily out of ice while an entire tray is freezing.
(b) Again, because ice expands from its water state, the ice shapes might grow slightly beyond their original molds. This can make fitting the ice sticks into some narrow water bottles tricky. My solution, run the sticks under tap water briefly to smooth off the edges and they should pop in just fine.
Physics is such a pain. . . .
I read a helpful review that caused me to edit my previous 3 star rating to 5 stars today. I was using this ice cube tray without instructions, so thank you to the reviewer who wrote instructions! Simply hold the tray at an angle over the sink to get rid of excess water and then you can store it at an angle in your freezer without it leaking. I've loved using this for my water bottles. Also the lid I've discovered is super easy to put on as long as it's a little wet. You also really only have to get in correctly in place once then when refilling it you lift it 90% off but not out of the hinges so it's easy to place the lid back firmly on. 5 stars, great product!
Aug. 29, 2016:
It will be awesome to have ice cubes the appropriate size to fit in a skinny mouth water bottle for the gym. However I'm giving it 3 stars b/c I bought this so I could stack and or store at an angel as advertised in my small freezer. Turns out the lid doesn't fit securely, so I can't store it any other way than flat until it's already frozen or the water leaks out from the tray. I checked many times to make sure I had the lid on correctly, and it still leaked every time I tried to store it any other way than totally flat. Also the lid is difficult to get on in the first place it took about three minutes to get it on.
